Project Tiny - my new Eunos

So, after owning my S13 for around 6 years I finally let it go on Tuesday

She'd been good to me, and I had plenty of fun in her, but after she turned into a bit of a project car 2 years ago, and it got to a point of needing a respray things started to slow down, I got busier and she sat in the garage feeling sorry for herself. Not having a workshop I didn't have time to get the respray done bit by bit at home, and slowly lost some interest.

Anyway, blah, blah... I struck a deal on here, and she was packed up and put on a trailer. Sadly I only got this quick shot as it left as the transporter turned up 2 hours early and I was a little pushed for time!!

So a few hours and 200 odd miles later I found myself in sunny South Wales over at Madda & Carli's (mum's) place

I'm sure plenty of you know this, but Madda's a top guy and I had no issues with trusting sending a car over to him (almost) blindly, everything went smoothly, with Madda & Carli being very accomodating when we got there.

Madda gave me a quick demo of my new car's skills. To this guys driving skills (and balls ), I was very impressed

I'm sure a few of you have seen this already as he took it to the weekender, but here are a few pics of my new baby

Yes it's dirty, and the pics were a bit rushed, but we'd been out around the local lanes and just stopped for some quick pics.

Funnily enough, when I went to get it I started to get a little sad about giving up on the S13, and as much as I fancied an MX5, mainly after all of the fans on here, I still felt like it could be a bit of anti-climax due to the lack of power, even if the handling made up for it.

Well, after taking it around some of our local twisty's today, all I can see is that I abosultely, 100% ****ing love it This thing handles so well you forget about it's lack of poke on the straights, once it's wound up it's awesome!!

I've got a few little jobs lined up, first one will be to give it a good going over with the PC as the paintwork, although pretty tidy, is in need of some TLC. Also got some minor additions for it, it doesn't need much as it's pretty well setup as it is, but watch this space

This was originally for sale down in cornwall and i nearly bought it as it was so sweet! lol (But 2 mx5's was greedy)

Pretty similiar spec to mine, but mine was the 1.8 s-special.

Still, looks awsome!! They are great handling cars, get it laser alligned if it has no documents of it being done, ive got a cracking set of settings from Phil at Wheels In Motion who specialise in mx5's, its his fast road set-up.

I miss mine very much, will deffo get another one one day (Or maybe try a DC2).

The more I see the more I want an MX5!

Im tempted to buy a standard SR20 engine, sell my car and with the standard engine and put my 450+bhp SR20 in an MX5 shell!

That's kind of missing the whole point of the MX5

While you lot are airing outside your closets I may as well join you.
Got followed to work today by a beautifull red series 3 Alfa Spider. I really want one of those now

Nice one on the MX, great cars Do I dare ask what Joe's going to do with your S13?

what ? .. driving around with the top down winking at men ... he can still do that with an sr under the bonnet

Although the 1st time he ends up backwards in a hedge thanks to sr20 diesel ... people are going to think him a monster gay for not being able to handle an mx5.

You can't beat it mate, it's great coming out

As for Madda and my S13, not sure really. He had an RB lined up, but that turned out to be no good, so he said he may end up breaking it. I don't think he's in any rush anyway, he's got his 'charged MX5 on the go at the mo
