    Ultimate stretch!

    Take a look at these:

They're 165/50/15 on a 15x8 wheel! Specifically ordered by a customer, thought it might interest you chaps

Stretch is always a great divider of opinion

This is a fair bit more extreme than normal, but we aim to please, customer asked if we could, so we accepted the challenge

Personally think that is too much stretch. Is there a purpose to strectching other than its looks?

They do look mad but I've seen more extreme stretch than that!

I agree. The stretch look can be quite good but that is ott, and the golf is just plain daft imho.

I think that their is an argument that stretched tyres have less movement in the sidewall of the tyre so produce more grip but on the other hand I could just of made that up

I would've thought R888s have fairly stiff sidewalls as it is

175/70/14 on a 10j is the way to go

Whats the chance of going round a corner too fast and you rolling on the edge of the rim?

I would say low as the tyre walls will be stiffer.

I have to agree. A little stretch can look good. Too much though it it just looks daft. Just buy thinner wheels if you can't afford tyres that fit

I thought the whole purpose of wider wheels was to fit wider tyres so as to get more traction! At least thats why I want wider wheels!

Wider tyres change the profile of the contact patch, but usually not the actual size of it if the tyre pressure remains the same

These were done at the request of a customer, mainly for the look. He needed them in a hurry, R888s were all we could get quickly, like same day, in that size, and he thought it sounded like a good plan

If I get some pictures of them on the car I'll share them
