No not yet mate, I haven't had a day off/ any time to work on the car since the mot

The welding is going to get done tomorrow and I will make a start on the other ball joint. I f I manage to get the lower arm off ok I should be able to get the balljoint out quite easily as we have an old fly press here Fingers crossed anyway.

I'm thinking that I may as well fit my front tc arms from my alignment set at the same time as I will need to get the alignment set after changing the tie rod ends anyway

My constant work in progress 14a with added jdm'ness!!!

    Small update:

Fitted my new nearside lower balljoint, two new tie rod ends and managed to fix my small rust problems/welding today

Cant believe that we managed to get it all done today.
My old man is a legend with mechanics and problem solving and has helped me to save a small fortune today

Few shoddy pics of the work:

Preperation of the rust patch pre welding:

Not quite sure why this was an mot fail as it hadn't even gone through

Few seems lifted and the rust treated

Couple pictures I took while trying to multitask of the lower balljoint replacement.

I forgot to take any more pictures:wack All we did to get it out was to smash the crap out of it with a lump hammer

I've come to the conclusion chris after both yours and my experience with joints we need one of these in our lives

Just a shame they cost a stack of money (100-200 quids).

Ha ha yep that made it look a lot easier than what i had to do today

I am sure that one of those could be made quite easily with a large G clamp and some scrap tho Definately be able to get one for less than 100-200 squid

Going to pop in tomorrow as I know them quite well now. Will try and get them to look at it either tomorrow or thursday morning before work. They only need to check the bits we sorted today as everything else was fine

Hopefully get to re-fit the decat on sunday and then it's back better than ever

Surley thats just a G clamp, a bit of metal over the balljoint and a hollow collar to let it out the other side ?

You would have to cut the stud off the ball joint for that method to work tho by the looks of it

That tool looks like it needs a flatish surface to press on which the 200 doesn't have without a little modification

Haha, I think I need to do a little more than tracking and a decat If I get it back this weekend or early next week, you're welcome to come and see me attempting to stop it rattling and moving wires around one evening, on the ramps at the bottom unit
