are three i can think of who've fitted LPG and used the car for a long time.

This is one of those subjects where sticking 'LPG' into the search box above, get a long drink, sit back and read, is the right way to go.

Mwahaha you asked for opinions! LPG is wrong, like Gary Glitter. If you want economy buy a sensible car, the only mods worth doing on performance cars are ones that send you harder into the wall/tree/school bus IMO.

There's a lot of very useful LPG experience on the board but there isn't one particular handy thread, and I doubt there ever will be as new information pops up all the time.

edit - and everybody argues with everybody else, hence my advice to read all the older threads, and make up your own mind

You do realise that the octane rating of LPG is higher than super unleaded? More resistant to det?

    Nobody mention calorific value.

The fuel economy of LPG is no better that petrol from what I can gather, and performance isn't compromised. The cost of the fuel is far less, so other than the initial cost of installing LPG, I see no logical reason for not doing it

And why the hell do you want to crash into a school bus?

Well apart from depending on your annual mileage, it also depends what you want from your car. If you want to tune it up to stupid power then it's something else to have to mess around with.

Yup, still got it. I was talking about my B3S in that thread, but ran my S14a on LPG also for a couple of years without any problems bar a couple of failing injectors (a touch overworked!).

I have a Prins system on my new car which has better injectors than the BRC kit, however, it doesn't have an ignition advance module.

The guy who installed my LPG kit sees my old S14a now and again, so it's still running, yet driven harder than ever from what I can gather...

60p is pretty pricey.. I pay about 54p normally, which is OK as the car needs SUL, which is over 110p around here (Reading, Berks).

A full 70L tank (63L fill) can see me cover 300 gentle miles at a cost of £33 ish.
