Oh right.May sound stupid but what point would need soldering is it a wire on the back of the rev gauge then.

It aint a wire - its all electronic.
Dunno what point it is but I've got it all in bits just now.
Think I may just have found them around the electric motor.

You don't have to take the wheel off if you're worried, I did it with it in situ, just lower the column with the adjuster.

Hi, I have a problem with my rev counter during my early morning starts, but during the afternoon the rev counter works fine. Could this be an early indication that the rev counter requires soldering up. As in warmer conditions the rev counter provides correct readings.
Furthermore after my 10mins of driving in the morning the rev-counter drops to normal...I am finding this weird, I have checked the Idle needle and is set correctly.
Any suggestions for me to try?
I have noticed that from 1000 rpm all of the sudden it jumps up to 2500, 3000 then to 4000 and sometimes to 6000 then back down to normal i.e. at 30 /mPH 1500 etc.

I was planning to do this at the weekend too. My rev counter jumps up and down to the music (or at least that's what it looks like)

Going to do ours when I fit the white dials....eventually....

thanks

You really don't need the pictures to be honest, taking it all apart is really straightforward, just go over ALL the soldered points on the back of the rev counter. Re fit how u took apart, once you've done it once you could do it blindfolded!

add to the useful posts - its a common problem and a step by step would be useful.

I'm pretty sure there is a step by step in the sticky: useful threads section........

Then again I may be wrong, I know I've read one somewhere!!

I have mine temp gauge jumping. Its like it looses contact and just drops down. And it looks like it does that only on acceleration, if you drive normal its ok.
Anyone had this? Is it soldering or something else?

Mine have just started doing this today when I set off for work, idling at 5.5k-6k RPM and then sitting at 8k when driving around. By the time I got to work (about a 15 min drive) it had settled to around the 2.5k mark when idling so definitely seems to get better when everything has warmed up.
I might take this opportunity to change the LED colour of the clocks too as I have wanted to do it but not had the need to take it all apart.
