    S13 Drift Project Romania

Hello, here is my first Nissan . It is an 1990 S13 CA18DET, and i want to make it my Drift car ( street and circuit ) street because in the country we don't have any circuits so we are training 90% on the street. I am happy because our country in for the first time in KOE and the drifting is starting to make allot of fans. So i hope to get the car finished as i whant for the qualification round. I started drifting in my BMW E36 and allot of money went in too it ( tein euro damper, struts, LSD, another engine, EBC brakes, etc ) i decided that the BMW is not a good platform for drift so i got the S13 .I hope to get lots of help from you guys in building the car.

Now, the car : no engine in it, stayed for 2 years without engine.I have 3 engines, all in pieces and now i will start building one of the so i can take the car to MOT and getting the feel of it

I am not sure for now if i am going to build a CA18DET for drift with forged piston, rods, all to hang in for 350-400 hp or go for a SR20DET.

Here is the car with 2 years of dirt on it )

    After 4 washes

And next thing done ! Getting that horrible vinyl off the car

I orderd at apex today some parts for the engine, i am waiting for the block to be striped so that the parts in it to get some work Tomorow i think i will start working in the engine bay area because it needs some work

it didn't have the wiper mounted on the trunk and it rained for 2 years in here, and the cap was not taken out ... so the spare wheel was floating when i got the car )

    some rust over here

but i am happy that there isn't so much rust on the car

Today i started work on the CRANKSHAFT, it is standard, but i will have to go moonday to the machinist so it can modify it.I was today there but he told me to try and get the rust out ( the block was caped in rain... for a long time ) but i tried and the rust seems to dig a little in the CRANKSHAFT... i started working on the caps, cleaning and preparing for paint, tomorow i will get more done

what is the best way to take the paint off the top engine caps, because i worked on one of the caps and tomorrow i want to do the second one and maybe there is a better way than sand paper or metal brush on the drill machine ???

    It's up to you......

Many people use high heat stuff but then a lot of people use standard paint and clear coat and seems to work fine.

If you are going to have the car as a show piece then normal paint would be fine, but if its going on track days to be pushed hard, the paint could easily start to crack and fade.

can you guys tell me what are the regulations for a custom roll cage so i wont have problems at competitions, the thickness of the bars, angle, etc ? or again a company that makes good cages ?

Looks like some good work so far, as for regulations and things like that, it's probably best to ask on driftworks website as they are more in the know when it comes to things like that.
