    Sycophantic sounding

Despite the chance that I end up all sycophantic sounding, I thought I should tell you that although I suspect I am genuinely a fair bit older than the average membership age (interesting to find out what that average may be?) at 44, & not a natural ‘joiner of clubs’ except for the pre purchsae technical & specification side, I have been really impressed by the Club itself. (World’s longest sentence!!)

We can all pick fault with a few of the posts, albeit often funny/pointless, BUT the Club organisation, willingness to help others & merchandise are all very impressive to this noobi. I was surprised & impressed by the range & overall quality of the SXOC goodies & general promptness of delivery.

Many moons ago, one of my jobs included sorting/sourcing of P.o.S. stuff & promo items for SEAT & their dealers & quite frankly we could have untold items of tat & frippery should we want to. As has been pointed out, much of it would age gracefully under fluff & dust on a shelf. Economies of scale because of limited demand will make most of what’s on offer just too expensive due to the size of the club membership; however loyal/positive individual members may be.

The ideas that have been mooted so far that sound like ‘good ideas’ to me + a couple of new ones are:

    1. Online club shop – with piccies
    2. Small car sized tool kit
    3. Torch, - don’t go mad on price though
    4. Light weight & durable key ring
    5. SXOC quality badge (chrome look but abs formed) for int/ext of car
    6. Small SXOC sticker for ext. Mirror glass
    7. Valve/dust covers
    8. Under bonnet basic/universal(ish) bling
    9. Name badges (slide in name type) for shows & events
    10. Car mats (would reversible be viable for LHD if our continental bredrin numbers allow?)
    11. Document/history folders
    12. Sun strip
    13. Pint glass/tankard
    14. Cloth patch for clothing
    15. Picture of SXOC member with 34E’s (nekid)
    16. Sill covers
    17. Can holder/coolers
    18. Dash plaque (individualised?)
    19. Pin/lapel badge
    20. Skins & savers for puters
    21. Mobile phone screen graphics
    22. Durable card with club contact details to slide under wipers of 200’s seen out ‘n’ about by us to drum up numbers??

Very easy to get carried away, but some or a few of the above might be nice. Do we have members who work (lucky b’stards) for/own companies that may be related to the design/supply of merchandise. Surly we also have enough web design/maintenance/photographic/graphic geeks, to sort the web shop idea, within our clan? Could even sell the 'shell' to other clubs...

Wot say the proletariat? I know a poll has been poo pooed, but I think as there are loads of ideas within this thread, a poll may at least give an indication as to deamand.

    Cheers,
    Rob

    Exactly!

Flexfits with sxoc on it would be awesome!
They are comfy and last very long. I have 4 flexfits caps, and the quality is perfect.
Even if they are a bit more expensive, they are worth it!

Where ever you go, never take an idiot with you. You can be sure you'll find one when you get there.

How about some "shakey" torches? They're brilliant, have LEDs and never ever require batteries so you know they'll work when you need them in an emergency. They also shouldn't cost too much as you can buy them atm from Maplins for only £4 each (I've got one for each vehicle I drive and the missus keeps one in her bag. Thats my 2p worth

    its a shame to hide my 34Es in men's polo's & fleece's

fitted girlie polo shirts & fitted fleeces would be good
    maybe you could model them

I have one of those, and it's very good, for close up stuff anyway.
