I would steer clear personally...
A friend had one, and they cost the earth to keep going with proper bits in this country, as there just aren't many about.
Running costs aren't exactly cheap either...
the build quality on the gen 3's arent that reat. personally, I'd go for a Gen 2 (Bumblebee in Transformers) parts are a lot easier to get hold of and its easier to modify. I used to own one and although she was a little thirsty, finding parts was never a major trouble. Pontiac Firebird parts mostly fit the Gen 2's as well
At least it's an IROC-Z so it's got a decent base engine in the 5.7 TPI engine, but I'd want to know what the super expensive thing that obviously needs fixed to make him sell it is.
I like these, nice and angular, the later ones are a bit soft looking, the series 2's are a poor relation to their contemporary Firebird cousins & the 1st gens are too damn expensive
But definately do not let your heart rule your head on this one mate.
you ll be disappointed dude .. its a shed .. drove one in florida , a 5.7 one ..it must weigh 3 tonnes and the gearing is too short!!
that s a pontiac trans-am/firebird not a chevy you donut!!!
Go for it mate! Ive always liked them and they do look very mean.
And its not alot of money for what your getting oooh that sound
I'm phoning about it on monday
You dont need a special mot - my corvette is lhd and it goes to any mot station. Good luck if you realy fancy it
it's a shed with a V8 in it. and from the tone of the ad, the V8 is on it's last legs
i'd be steering well clear of it
power-crazed Head-Mod
My tiny bit of sense tell's me your right and avoid like the plague but..........
Might make a good project, be something different to work on. I really want to have an s15, and i could just afford this one, any of the higher priced ones and it'd be no s15
Biggest problem is i know myself and if i go to see it i'll come home with it

Also found this one.
I really like these 3rd gen F-bodies and would have had one but it wouldn't fit in my lock-up.
This one doesn't look too clever. Another £500-£1000 would get a really nice one.
Apparantly they rot most around the sills and in the rear quarters especially around where the rear chassis forms a swan neck shape (kinda like the front chassis of a Manta).
