    Solaris ECU info

We are now authorised fitters and dealers for the Solaris ECUs.

These ECU are made by Life Racing, the electronics dept of AER. They're a cut down version of the ECUs used in some Le Mans cars.

    Features include:
    Boost control
Closed loop fuelling and knock control
    Anti lag
    Traction control
    Launch control
CAN bus or RS232 comms for digital dash boards

A full list of features can be found here:
    http://www.solaris-ecs.co.uk/downloa...isfeatures.pdf

We use this ECU in our Time Attack S13, that recently made 583bhp at Surrey Rolling Road.

Prices start from £1249+VAT for the S6 ECU. Sensor, fitting and calibration is extra. This is extremely good value for money when you consider the cost individual components:
    Power FC - £600
    Boost controller - £300
    Traction control - £600
    EGT gauge - £200
    AFR gauge - £200
All engine gauges (oil temp, pressure, water temp, ACT etc)
    Datalogger - £x
    Knock monitor - £200

And even if you bought all of the above it'd be a mess of components that don't communicate together.

Heres are a few screen shots of the calibration and data log viewing software:

Anyhow that aside, what are they like to fit? Obviously it'd not really be feasible to drive the s14 down then come back for it..........but once it's fitted obviously it'd need to come down to allow you to set it up properly, and it'd be good to get the car on the dyno's.
Does it have default settings that would allow it to be driven safely from up here to down there, or is it trailer down and drive back?
The system is not a DIY install - unfortunately there is no plug an play version for the 200's. We would need to wire it in and then set it all up.

If you are interested it'd probably be worth giving us a call so we can discuss your requirements. Normally people would drop the car off with us while we fit the sensors, ECU and do the mapping. Then you could come over and we can set it up how you like it

If you'd like a quote let me know

Sounds cool, good luck with it all. I know a lot of clever people are very excited about these ECU's.

    I want one!

Will you trade in my power FC with commander unit?!

What is the interface with this system? Do you need certain type of dashboard or need a laptop plugged in, or additional LCD screen?

You need a laptop to configure the ECU. Dash is optional and is for display only.

Would be handy to have the dash, otherwise you'll need to have a laptop to plug in when you want to view stuff like boost etc.

Can it not interface with an LCD screen that can be mounted within the car?

Do you have any more info on the dash and how much that costs?

    Cheers.

It'll work with most motorsport dashboards that have CAN bus or RS232 inputs.

This is the dash I have in my car: http://www.aimsports.com/products/mxl-strada/index.html

No, its a motorsport ECU and will only connect to motorsport dash boards - the dash needs to accept RS232 or CAN bus protocols.

How does this system compare to the VEMS ECU?

What sort of display does this run?

Edit- I should learn to read the entire thread before posting.

How much did the MXL Strada set you back Jez?

I'm not sure I should be asking this, but...
Coul this be run on a rotary?
The idea of all of these features in one unit is very appealing.

Although I suspect the fact I want to keep the stock twins and their control mechanism may throw a spanner in the works.

So could I get this installed then have the potential to run on any engine transplant I may want in the future? Say possibly a V8 with just loom alterations and a mapping session? I've had my MXL strada sitting in its box for over a year now so this would make me pull my finger out installing it lol. How much would we be rougly looking at for supply, fitting and mapping?
