Cheers guys, yeah steve sadler mapped it 305bhp 310lbft, which will do for now, bigger turbo coming soon though
305 is still a nice solid figure on a ca18det...i bet its fun.seems to come onto boost very early??
so wat turbo you going for then?
Yeah its spooling from 1500 and making full boost about 3000 right upto the redline at 8000rpm!!!!
Going for a GT3071r but not until next year now, i just wanna do a few track days before the weather gets too bad and generally enjoy driving it for a while,
read the feature last nite on the crapper lol! very nice car you got there and the feature made me come find this thread and read it! wish i could afford such awesome rims!
AAARRRRGGGGHHHH.... 347 miles, thats how long my turbo gasket lasted, boooo to shite uk roads !!!
well if your running stiff suspension the exhuast scrapes and gets knock around more often then not pulling and pushing it about...as the turbo is connected to the exhaust that also moves around causing the gaskets to blow
^ Yep it's constantly smashing the floor too , time for a flexi joint and a skid plate methinks
yeah man just a small upside down ramp shaped plate on the lowest part of the exhaust....japspeed to a flexi joint downpipe iirc
Ok i think ive just about had enough now, engine went pop weekend before last, my fault entirely, i missed a gear out on track 4th to 3rd at 130ish mph, smoke everywhere, i think its melted the rings amongst other things (i ve not pulled it apart yet), bottom end seems ok though, no knocking, but lots of piston slap.....
Do i re build again or turn gay and stick an sr or ls1 in it?
Engine conversion ftw
Gutted for you Ali
Nothing gay about V8s!
Cheers guys, i think the answer is going to be sr20 for the moment, and i ll source an all alloy v8 ready for next summer
Boo Gutter dude.
I reckon the character and the style of the car will really suit a big snarly V8
It doesn't even have to be that quick, just has to sound like 3 bowling balls in a tumble drier on idle.
V8 would be perfect for your car mate ! Either that or stick with the ca
So beautiful !
