Use Autosol for the polished lip and any other bare metal like the exhaust
thats what i was considering too
Shampoo: Meguiars Gold Class
Clay bar: Meguiars with Quick Detailer as lubricant
Polish: Autoglym Super Resin Polish
Wax: Undecided still...Is the Meguiars Gold Class any good?
Wheels: I will use the above for the painted parts and Autosol for the polished lip
Just need advice on a Wax now
chemical Guys Pete 53', fantastic Wax, 100% natural, and once you've built up 4-5 layers (24 hours gap between layers) the finish is amazing, (espcially on darker cars, and metalics) and its really easy ot clean for 6months or so, just spray a water based cleaner on the car and wipe off, and it brings it back to when you first waxed it
i'll look into that....just out of curiousity, whats better? The wax that comes in a pot or in a liquid form in bottles?

Best wax I've used by far is:
Victoria Concours http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/vi.../prod_312.html
Widely accepted on the Detailing World forum as being as good if not better than a £60 wax it looks superb but wont last 3-6 months like Collinite or Finishkare but then it looks better!
Something to consider is the fact you have a white car which like silver wont really show up much differences in waxes like darker colours do. Have a look on DW for a sticky thread: "post up pics of white cars" and go for a wax you like the look of on their cars.
Edit: found it for you http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=14509

Do you have a Sparesworld or A1 Motorshop by you? If so they do Turtlewax Platinum Shampoo for £3.99. It's identical to Zymol's green car shampoo(They are both made by Turtlewax) and at that price you can buy loads. Oh and its better than Gold Class which I'm not at all impressed by.
If you must buy a Megs shampoo, this is the best:

Claybar - Bilt Hamber Autoclay. not only is it cheaper, you get a bar about 5 times as big (you only need a fairly small chunk out of it to clay the car, so lasts ages) and only needs water to lube it, saving on the use of the fairly expensive quick detailer too. A bargain at a tenner.

Wax - Collinite 476 - THE most durable wax on the market. As you have a white car, then no wax will add anything extra to the paint when compared to the polishing stage (the key to looks is in the prep, not the wax) so a £5000 wax wont look any better than a £15 wax. Therefore it makes sense to get a wax that protects your paint the best and is the most durable.
Same price as Gold Class, about a million times better. Pete's 53, natty's Blue, Chemical Guys XXX, Dodo's Victoria's etc are all decent waxes, but none can hold a candle to Collinite's durability, and like I said, on white you will never be able to tell the difference (as an owner of 3 white cars).

If you have to buy stuff from Halfords, then there really isn't a good wax there, apart from the new Autoglym HD wax, but this is £40! Best last stage product there is Turtlewax's Platinum Extra Gloss. Very durable again, but is a liquid sealant, not a wax and is a touch easier to apply.
A curve ball is the Autobalm which does the SRP and the wax stage in one. It has Collinite levels of durability, plus is extremely resistant to rust, miles more than anything else, plus fills swirls really well.

Ah! So many choices! lol!
I'm just having a look at that link that Halberstram posted up....very useful
No problem
Just a little update, i've decided on a wax now and went for the Collinite 476s as there have been a lot of good reviews as well as the long lasting protection it gives (thanks Roscopervis for pointing me in that direction ). I just need a Shampoo now and some sponge/cloth/mitt to wash the car with? Any ideas?
Shampoo: Is the Autoglym stuff any good?
Clay bar: Meguiars with Quick Detailer as lubricant
Polish: Autoglym Super Resin Polish
Wax: Collinite 476s

Autoglym stuff is ok, but expensive for what it is. Doesn't sud up either.
Seriously, get the BiltHamber Autoclay, much better and cheaper.
Get a Lambswool washmit, Something the Eurow one or even the one Halfords sell (its grey).
Best shampoo's in Halfords are the Zymol Green Shampoo and the Turtlewax Platinum Car Shampoo. Otherwise, get Duragloss 901 or Meguiars Shampoo plus.
I only suggested the Augtoglym as it comes with the kit i bought. The non-sud does put me off a bit...
I would've done, and definately will for next time, but have already got the Meguiars clay at the moment so will use that first
I'm popping up there on my lunch so will have a look
I'll have a look into the Duragloss901
Many thanks for the help roscopervis!
