It's not doing it for me to be honest, I think you need highlights to keep it interesting, totally black is, well, a bit too black. I'm heading more 'luxury VIP' than 'Pimp' I think, clear side repeater and i'm away.
You going to show this off on thursday so we can all pass judgement/comment?
There's a meet thursday? Tits, I dont think I can make it, i'll check my busy schedule though...
Small friday night, beer fuelled, good humoured rant, BUT:
Not long after I got the Soarer, I was toying with ideas for what wheels to get for it, and I spotted a set of wheels called 'petrol' something or other, and thought they looked pretty pimp. I proceeded to do a (admittedly not great) photoshop here:

And everyone basically said 'nooo, they look a bit pants. But since then I have seen them on several VIP style cars, most recently this one:

(scroll down a bit)
They look really on every car i've seen them on, why oh why did I listen to all you people? As much as I quite like my current wheels, I think these would look loads better, damn me and my easily swayed opinions!
That is all.
People's opinions suck! Ignore them all :P
I've done a little bit of Photochopping to try and get the look that I want for the front of the car, I need opinions please. Oh and anyone local who wants to have a go at making the pictured mods to my front bumper, please get in touch.
BEFORE
AFTER
What I have done is lowered the car (this I can already do with the height controller but it was an old picture), clear side repeater, small front step style lip to match the side, removed bar in centre of bumper opening and removed large turning lights (they aren't fogs, they come on when you indicate with the lights on, very odd.)
Ignore the weird lump behind the rear wheel, I want to fit some sort of diffuser and just put that in so there wasn't a blank space there so it evened things out when you are focussing on the front.
I like it, what do people think?
Easier to compare, perhaps?
I like, the lowness is nice tucking a bit of tyre at the back
Not sure about the splitter, I think the back needs something that flows a bit smoother as well personally
Spot on IMO
Definitely get rid of the turning lamps, makes it look a lot cleaner. What are you going to do about scrubbage? It didn't sound too tasty the other day when it was that low.
Looks good though.
And I just thought - flared front arches and matching dish on the front ftw
Edit: have you heard this?

Get that exhaust made!

Pah, scrubbage? It was considerably lower than that the other day when we took photos. I was driving it around for 3 days looking as low as the chop above it didn't scrub, plus I can remove the plastic edging and roll it 10-2 if I really need to, it's not really an issue. I'm also liking the tyre tuck on the rear, I might hold off on getting spacers for a while, sorry offset police...
Zepplin the back is next on the list, I just chuck a lump of blackness in there to fool the eye a bit, thinking of finding some sort of race type carbon diffuser and modifying it to fit somehow...
sort of like this maybe.... not sure on this now I've chopped it.
I'm not sure. Splitters and diffusers = race car and I'm not sure this is the look you're really after.
I think its looking great, in fact you have re-newed my intrest in them.
I was not sure about the skirts but they have turned out fine
I agree with Ben, this car suits simple smooth lines as opposed to splitters and diffusers. The lowness does look great in the chop though. Focus on wheel fitment, ride height and generally tidying up the body (like removing those little wing lights and foglights, etc)

Love this project!
I'm sure you've seen it before, but I thought I'd post this as it pretty much encompasses the murdered out look I mentioned a little while ago:
Sure you don't want to go black on the wheel lips?
