Ok in between changing nappies, work and trying to get the odd hours sleep, i managed to get the car out for Castle Combe on saturday.

I replaced the upper wishbone (which have to be extensively modified and braced to work), steering rack, split rim outer rim and cut'n'shut the damaged front nose mounting steel armature. i stitched the broken bodywork together by drilling holes either side of the splits and tywrapping into place.

once the shape was somewhere near, i glassed over the damage on the inside and just added resin to the outside. found a silver aerosol in the garage, totally wrong shade, but had to do. bit of tank tape and it was usable.

Tracked the car up and set camber/corner weights on friday evening and changed front springs too.

set off for Combe at 5am saturday morning

Practice was torrential rain so great fun on slicks turned boost down and switched to 'softest' map. car steered really well even on slicks, but braking was iffy and even breathing on the loud pedal sent the car side ways.
incar from last run (dry) but no sound. camera moves on exit of Quarry, so picture a bit on the p**s.

managed 3rd FTD overall ( i was told, but havent seen official results yet) was beaten by a full rtace Caterham and full race westfield, similar power to my car but 250kgs lighter....
that gave me new Scimitar class track record by approx 2 secs
bit more to come too as our last runs were nearly 6pm so all track temp had gone.

have some outcar video, will post up later

thought its about i posted an update

i repaired the damaged nose properly, and repainted the nose, drivers fr wing, door, rear wing and rear light panel. few other tidying jobs and finally got around to adding the majority of the logos (big thanks to TomM for the vinyls). Just need the new bonnet one and its finished.

very few mechanical changes, bit of trickery with the ecu which could pay dividends in keeping the car boosting, hopefully the first event on saturday at Aintree in Liverpool will prove me right or wrong
bit more work on the aero side too, rear 'Brawn GP' diffuser is back on and modified, and ive started at the front with the front adj aero tweeks, although they wont be finished for Aintree or Anglesey double header weekend start of May, but should be ready to test for Harewood Hillclimb.

looking forward to taking the old girl back out there!!

Cheers Kev, seems like a piece of cake compared to your 'mountian moving' recently.
managed to damage the other side (cosmetically only ) at Harewood last weekend
