i seriously hope the s13/14 help rid the country of them fecking twin cams!!

never liked them and never will,i drove them in the mid 90,s when they were only around ten year old then, they were horrible then god knows what they like now!

the prices they make are silly, you could get a nice spec,d up s13/14,i know which car id prefer!!

    Have to agree with Steve

The prices that I've see advertised for some shitbox Twincams is unreal.

And can't say I'm a fan at all of them either

I can't see s13s ever getting such a cult status, no way

I'm not too sure either, mainly because most people still have no clue what they are (14's anyway) cant speak about 13's though.

But i have to disagree with the sh*tbox comments about cam's, some are lovely, capable cars, chassis based on similar dimensions to the Mark II escort, great around the twisties and the lovely exhaust note too.

twin cams are seriously over priced, personally i think you get a far better car in the s13 and s14,and better looking aswell.

the ae86 will always have a cult following in ireland, for some reason the irish are obsessed with them,in japan the drifting scene started of by guys using ae86 truenos, the ones with the pop up lights, the japanese actually had a cartoon about drifting, and guess what car was in the cartoon??yes a fecking ae86 trueno!!

the ae86 started of the rear wheel drive craze, now, thankfully nissan s bodies are undoubtably the kings of rear wheel drive craze of today, and it looks like its going to be that way for a long time

yeah nissans have or prob will take over but wouldnt go putting down the cams either, iv had one and loved it, prob still have it today if it wasnt for an ejit in a tractor not watching where they were going, the grilfriend has one now and its some peice of kit, every time i get into it i hate gettin out of it, very easy to see why they have such a following, some day i might be back in the drivers seat of one, sr20 powered though

dont get me wrong i think some are well kept cars, what i hate about them most is the price of them,i cant understand why someone would pay so much for them

its the young people who can get insurance on them that make some of them scrappers on wheels, ive heard recently that insurance isnt so easy to get on them for young ones, dont know how true that is

nissan on the world stage has taken over,no matter what country you go to regarding drifting, japan is mostly nissan, america etc

as i said in my last reply the irish have an obsession with them that i personally have never understood, having driven them they just dont do it for me

nissans will never overtake the corolla as a cult rwd car. Dont get me wrong, I love my s14 for its speedhit, and corollas are mad overpriced but ive got both, and Id sell my nissan tomorrow but ill never sell my corolla and yes its dead but if i squeezed my nissan engine into my 'coupe' it would destroy any s13/14/14a on a track or backroad. The nissans just dont handle as well as the wee corollas. To be honest, id sell my nissan tomorrow if anyone wants a well spec'd s14, and buy a jap import levin as soon as i could find one, so beat me now

yeah i agree on the price of them there a bit mental thats why i bought a 14a over another cam, and nissans are the drift machines alright, but each to there own i guess, likin this thread nice to see a few opinions, when all is said and done though there both legendary cars in there own right

There is something cool about driving a tin can...Had 3 of them but they were complete Hen houses...lol
SXs are 1000times better in every way...
Not enough people know waht the SXs are capable of yet so not a cult car yet...but soon...

S13s are cult cars already, I personally don't like tin-cans, never have for their underpowered engines and they're massively overpriced for what you get. Mind you I say that about S15's but at least you're getting something modern, with good handling and side-impact bars!

The only thing going for a tin-can (I think) is the fact that it's 1.6 so young lads can get insured on something RWD to do doughnuts in, and that it's so light it can handle well. Oh & the interior's rank by comparison. If you're not interested in the interior, look at the design of both, the S13 wins from every angle. That's not even going into the S14/a/15.

At least if you're going Tin-can go Trueno, not the same boring Levin design you see everywhere. If you're doing it, do it properly!

i agree 100%,the tin cans, silvia, both s14/15 are grossly overpriced but at least you get a lot of power with the nissans.

have you noticed the guys^^^ who said they prefer tin cans also said they prefer them with nissan sr20 power?
