there were used in the R30 skyline and other models that we never got. With the correct parts you could over 1000bhp. Parts are quite hard to get as they are either rarely available or only from nissan from japan. www.fj20.com. If its an fj20e non turbo with a box in top nick the skys your limit. Best person to ask is s13eater

i would'nt say that the fj20e is worth that much, the fj24 on the other hand is like rockin hoss sh!t, i was given an fj20e for free, they fetch about £80 / £100, the parts are getting hard to find and for big power it will cost you, as a lot of things have to be custom made, good luck either way, but if you decide to sell the engine then give me a pm and price, i probly will be looking for a spare at a later date as i'am going to be drag racing mine.

I struggled like hell to sell an FJ20E S12 for £300.

They're ok engine's when non-turbo'd but nothing amazing my today's standards. Only 145bhp.

They do however have great potential when turbo'd, the cylinder heads are really well designed. It's a shame that the FJ20E don't have the 200bhp that it should have had.

I don't think 145 bhp is bad for such an old engine ?
Even much more modern 2.0 gti types don't get that sort of power

i would not talk anyone into building one of these engines, if i new now what i new when i was first starting the project, then i'd never of started it, i'am having probs getting the right crank bearings for it, i'am just to far into it now to stop, 7k and it needs at least anther 2 1/2 k throwing at it.

Holy Fizz shizzle! Please tell us that it will be bomb proof when built though? (The main reason to use an FJ20 in the first place?)

it wont be bomb proof but hopefully the conrods will be. . . . The whole car is going to be a constant expence and very high maintanance with the sort of power he is aiming for.

    power comes at a price....

i think a lot is down to if its been built right or thrown together, mark ashfords 7.9 sec quater fj20 has 744 bhp atw and done over 70 passes without any problems, its not like i'am going to be using 45psi everywhere that i go

Nissan didn't use the "t" designation for turbo version of FJ20E but it will be rare in UK as no UK car was fitted with it, so we assume it's the N/A version.

Although N/A 147.5bhp/110Kw means it's more powerful than the 1.8 turbo CA18ET 134bhp/100Kw. It don't take much to put the CA18ET on par and the tune required to get power means it sacrificed low down torque. What would be called a "cammy" motor. Nothing between them in actual torque just the turbo makes it at 2/3 the revs, CA18ET 134ftlb (181.7Nm) @ 3200 FJ20E rpm136ftlb (184.4Nm) @ 4800 rpm.

i thougt they did use the T on the turbo model, fj20/et, but they never used the D to make it read fj20/det, only what i've read on fj20.com, could be wrong though.
