    Oily problem:(

    Hejsan!

Got my car on street the other day, with 2 second hands HKS gauges in the car! Oil temp and oil pressure, they where fitted along with Apex's oil remote and cooler kit..

All where fitted, no problem with any oil dripping or so.. Now to the readings:

    Cold:

    4,5 bar - kg/cm2
    aorund 5,5 when hitting 3000rpm

    Now to the strange thing:

When oil was warm after some highway driving (no spiritet driving)

    1 bar - kg/cm2 idle
    3-4 bar - kg/cm2 at 3000 rpm..

Talked to the local nissan shop, they said that when hot the pressure is normal.. Just think that it is abit to low! But why? Can it be gauges? oil pump? bearings? The car has only done 83.000km (51.875 miles)

Im using 5/40 Mobile 1 oil!

    Regards Martin Olsen

sounds about right to me. My idle reading has always been around 15psi. My engine has done only 6k.

    Ok nice to hear!

Another question is, did anyone use tape to close fittings together? Or was is just bolted together?

    Regards

you should be using thread tape with any of those connections to make sure that they do not leak in the future.

I used PFTE / Teflon tape over the thread (put it on anti-clockwise!) for my temperature-sensors and they havn't leaked a drop Its very cheap and you can get it at most hardware stores in the plumbing department.

Yeah i will use PFTE tape then, just forgot the name before I work as i flymechanic so use it often, but only when doing oxygen bottles or so, dont really use it when we do oil hoses and so.. But my hoses leaks abit now, so ill defo fit to my fittings then

    Thanks!

    Regards Martin
