    wont the output shaft be the same diameter though and as such no stronger?

    granted the gears are stronger

    Ben - PPG Billet shafts are rated at 700bhp, OSG @ 500bhp not just about diameter, but the metal make up and heat treatment.

    I don't get why the bits are rated in BHP, surely torque is the factor thats going to kill things???

    I agree, however both OSG and PPG have given me figures in bhp.

    I can only guess that they are gearboxes for the SR20 and that they would expect certain torque figures at those bhp.

    FYI both quote at extremes of use, clutch kicking when drifting, drag launches etc.
