    Actual Lulz

Not only did I drive it, I bloody washed it as well.

Cleaned the leaves off the exhaust manifold to minimise the fire risk first, though.

Oh, and my phone appears to have something odd to the wheels so it looks like I'm running mega camber y0. I'm not.

Short update: No money to reinsure, retax and MOT, weighing up how much I actually use it and whether or not having something less special, and a bit less mental, but with 4 seats (so our tiny family of 3 can actually enjoy it) or a super competent daily. Possibly scratch the rear engined itch as that ticks all of the boxes.
Although I'm being a bit shit at that, as I'm still buying parts and tools for it

But I'm avoiding the issue by just not thinking about it. It'd never be sold as a car, I'm pretty confident of that.

I can see the attractions of the badge but an IQ would have saved you a bundle. Whats the depreciation like over the Toyota.

I don't know, for there to be any depreciation data, they'd have to have sold a sample large enough to provide meaningful stats

(It may or not be a pool car my wife has borrowed from work... Never has 'I've borrowed another Aston' been so disappointing. )

Saw a few driving round Vauxhall, London Bridge, Southwark a couple of years ago so your wifes employer isn't the only badge whore out there

Hehehe, the reason the employer has them is because they haven't managed to sell them So they just use them as pool cars. The funny bit is that they've given her that for the 2 and a half hour journey to Goodwood, as all of their non shite fleet are on the stand

But linked to that, it's basically her fault that my 911 dream is getting stronger - she keeps borrowing things like this:

Which really makes it hit home that a 'posh' but-not-quite-as-fast car is sometime a nicer thing to have than a very fast but rattly older one.

That's more like it, as in a proper Aston, engine turned around the right way and connected to the correct end of the car
and an large capacity engine not some puny generator engine sprinkled with glitter
nice but I will never own anything so valuable, so rusty old datsun it is for me

Rattly can always be sorted Si - you just need to care enough to put the time in rather than throwing cash at another that isn't as pretty.

I like the concept of the Sygnets - uber-posh luxury you won't find anywhere else in a city car! Minis are the next closest thing.
