£10 from me to the worthy fund. Hope that many more shiney bits come, as in for performance not for looks. Anyway, I am greatful for the advise you give and look forward to seeing your motor on the road.
Have just paid using paypal.
Cheers, Alex.

Well, I think its time to end this thread. Thank you all sooo much for your donations.
So you know what its been spent on the engine will be to this spec:
84mm 8:1 JE forged pistons
Rebored block
Lightened and balanced bottom end
Mildy ported/polished head (thanks Paul_S13)
New bearings/gaskets/seals
New oil pump
New head bolts
Cryogenically treated con rods
Plus while the engine is out I have had the rust welded on the turrets (cheers Paul again), resprayed the engine bay, replaced all the rusty bolts with nice shiny nickel plated ones, had the manifold tapped for an EGT gauge and polished the turbo compressor housing.
Thanks to you all again, hugely appreciated, it would never have been possible without you.
Unstick...

so are you getting near to being back on the road? If the rest is as high quality as the sprayed engine bay then It'll be a great car And thankyou again for fitting me stuff
Must be going well if this has been unstuck
Really pleased about the response you've had, Steve, and very glad that the engine has been rebuilt to such a high standard....just be sure to look after it this time!
Well, its not been built yet. The parts are off to the machine shop next week and after that the rods go to be treated.Originally posted by TAC

After that I get my hands greasy and hope I dont forget to do up all the bolts.
Hopefully it will be running in 4-6 weeks.

Are you thinking of having the rods treated? Ive found a place in Stowmarket that does the cryogenic freezing.

i'm really rather drunk, so excuse this silly reply. But if you do that to them, doesn't that mean that they will be frozen in time and one day wake up in an engine in the future?Originally posted by SteveCarter200

Yeager: Yes, it means that exactly. In the year 3242 my car will spring to life with mutant conrods.

Steve,
I have to confess to not knowing what cryogenics does either !!
If its worth doing, and not gonna break my already severely flattened bank account let me know!!
Thanks,
James.
