    Uprated turbo's

In this months Jap Performance I noticed a company called Redline who are offering uprated turbos.

As I need mine changing I got some prices and specs from them and thought these prices sounded good. I'd be interested to know what you thought about the quoted power claims though, as they seem higher than other versions. If this is correct though I think I'll be having one

    T25 replacements :-

All prices, include VAT, delivery and new uprated actuator, but you need to send your old T25 to them afterwards.

    Stage 1 - T25, new uprated bearings, seals etc £500 - upto 260bhp

    Stage 2 - T25, with 360` bearing, larger T28 compressor wheel, and a few other bits - £650 upto 300 bhp

Stage 3 - T25, similar to above but with roller bearing core, £850 , upto 350bhp

Does the above power figures sound accurate ??

    They are based in Luton.
    2004 - on : 1999 S14a 398bhp 378lb/ft

hi mate i aint sure if they are good price to be honest, are they BRAND NEW or RECONDITIONED TURBOS???

Bren does a RB T28 so check out his site/email hime for more details

PS i wouldnt have thought a Stage 3 T25 could handle 350BHP, but hey i could be wrong??

I was slightly sceptical about the power figures as well, but if the stage 2 T25 can happily produce 270 bhp then it lifts us S13 owners quite happily to the limit of the standard injectors and AFM.

Should work well with a Saab FMIC and Jez Stage 2 chip I'm hoping.

That sounds wildly exaggerated. According to ppl with T25H's, the max thay will gove you is about 260BHP. This is of course IMHO.

Isn't that basically another way of describing a T28, with a 360 bearing? (ie the same thing as a T28).

I'd recommend the bb turbo bren sells, I got 284bhp(flywheel) at 15psi with no internal mods just chip, filter, exhaust and volvo fmic, and I had fecked rings at the time.(still do)

Nope. The "T25" or "T28" is the bit in the middle of the turbo - the bit that holds the shaft. You then have different housing sizes for the inlet and exhaust housings. This is what ppl mean when they quote a/r's for turboes. You then on top of that have different size impellors (compressor wheel).
The largest impellor you can fit on a T25 is a lot smaller that the largest a T28 can take. The T28H's that Bren sells have roller bearing cores and PROBABLY(though this is a guess) the largest compressor wheel that a T28 can take.
Autoenhance have recently fitted a T25 with the largest bits you can possibly fit to one, and it still aint that big. (though Huge for a Fiesta RS Turbo
