Hi all, was just wondering what the maximum bhp standard pistions can take, i would like to start upgrading my car, but should i start with forged pistions? or are standard ones ok. i would like to get it to 250bhp to 300bhp. thanx

250-300bhp on standard pistons is a doddle
The stock internals can handle 300-320 hp IIRC ..
isn't Noz running 430+ on standard internals?
well i am running 304 and 295 ft lbs on stadard ints just a cometic 1.6mm head gasket.
how long do you want the engine to last?
i recond 1000bhp for 30 seconds
for 300bhp for longer.
Would you not rate them as to what boost they can handle
I have being told by my engineering shop that builds and tunes engines that standard pistons will take 1.4bar and standard HG will take 1.2bar afaik.
I'm running 319 on standard internals with a metal headgasket (see spec below)
i belive the rods are the lowest rated internal, bout 370bhp
but they will last with more power, as noz has proven
you don't measure boost components will take, as 1.5 bar on a T25 is very different to 1.5bar on a GT2871R.
from what i've read its somewhere around 320-350 most people stop before having to worry seriously about the engine.
im running a t25 on 0.9 bar, it was running at 1.3, i was told this was not good, so i got a hks actuator and turned it down, i would like 250 - 280 bhp, what do i need to get this, i have a k&n air filter, full ss exhaust system, stage 1 chip, sabb fmic.
What next??
A bigger turbo
