    Brake pipe prices?

    Hi guys,

As you may know, just failed the S13 MOT.

Does anyone know the best place to get brake pipes (assuming the solid type here), and possibly prices of:

    Nearside rear upper brake pipe
    Offside Rear brake pipe

    Answers on a postcard to... .. .

Alternatively, if anyone has some laying around in good condition

peanuts mate. If you can get them off the car you can take the old ones to a motor factor and get them to make you up new ones for about a tenner each. Or, if you're more hands on, you can buy a flaring kit and some pipe for about £25 and do it yourself, then you've always got the tools.

Rather trust someone else to do it for me, with regard to brake pipes. Thanks for the tip though. Unless I get a better offer, i'll do what you've suggested with taking it off etc

Mine failed on rear brake pipes this year. so I got the copper pipe and some unions and a flaring kit and sorted it for well under £50. did the work myself though

If you buy the pipes direct from the motor factors rather than having them made up... what are the prices like? (i.e. pre-made).

I'm sure i paid around a tenner to have a front to rear line and a rear driverside line made up.

This year when removing my ABS i bough a flaring kit and a roll of brake pipe. Very easy to do and cheaper if you plan on replacing a few of the lines.

Most motor factors make them up from coiled pipe. I'd be suprised if they had them in stock pre-bent.

It's a great chance to get them in copper so you'll never have to replace them again.

I'm pretty sure the nissan ones aren't copper. They come pre shaped and cost a fair bit.
