Are these interchangeable,
ie if i buy an ecu with a HD stage 2 chip in (from a post facelift)
can i put it in my pre facelift?

you can put the chip... as for the ecu... you'll need to fit a lambda sensor in your prefacelift...
is the wiring for this there or will I have do do some messing about, would it be more advisable just to switch the chips about?
afms are different, pre facelift is adjustable, whereas post face uses lambda sensor and isn't
there is also pretty big difference in warm up fuel enrichment between lambda and non lambda ca ECU. If you have chip designed for facelift ECU (lambda, MEC D007), you will have problems during engine warmup if you put this chip into prefacelift ECU(non lambda, adjustable AFM). You will need change also warmup and startup tables in chip.
I dont think that lambda is neccessary for facelift chip in prefacelift ecu, if you dont plug lambda, ecu will just use only open loop mode.
Its a HD chip. On the website theres no option to chose between pre and post facelift. I assumed there was no difference.
the chip is no different on either its just the ecu that is i ran a pre facelift ecu on my facelift car without problems for a long time till i sourced a socketed facelift ecu not sur how it ould work runing w a facelift ecu on a pre facelift i assume it would just resort to running as if the lambda sensor was disconneted
will this F**k my car?
i would just get the chip out sell the socketed ecu and have a socket soldered into your ecu, chip wise only auto/manual are different ecu's are much different and i think without a fair amount of work the will run crap if at all
mine runs perfect with a facelift ecu in my pre facelift, over 200 brake at stage 1
I ran a pre ECU in my facelift with a Stage 1 chip for two weeks. The fueling was crap especially when cold.
I swapped to a facelift ECU and moved the chip over and its now good.
EDIT: That's 240 brake and 245 lb/ft with good AFRs across the rev range.
