This has just reminded me of when Pete Rosenberg said he would put an SR20 clutch into my CA18DET'd S13 and someone who surprisingly didn't invent the conversion saying fook off it can't be done

I remember someone telling me how it was done properly and then saying keep to yourself tis a dark art this CA Tuning
That doesn't make the subject any clearer

clarity you had this setup?
I remember I tried to find S12 starter but couldn't...
When I bought my last CA and all associated bits it was fitted with the S14 clutch setup, the previous owner was running around 450 BHP.
I changed it back to an S13 setup though, I ran this ckutch http://www.apexperformance.co.uk/cat...f677fb43f4bfa4
Why not just order your SR20 aluminium flywheel with a CA ring gear on it?

I think I might try to replace starter ring on SR flywheel with the ring taken off CA fly, any reasons for this not to work?
Also, could S14 starter be made to work?
I have couple of questions about SR20 fly+CA18ET starter combo... First, minor, is that starter hits block ventilation tube a bit, did those who made this conversion had this problem?
And second, starter teeth step is around 11mm, while SR20 flywheel teeth step is 8mm (the same as CA18 flywheel). Isn't it too much of a difference?
heres a link to this

might help someone
Great link, thanks!
ummm.... why go thru the hassle of SR hardware, if CA18 bits will suffice ?
this thread... about 10 posts down

looks like a pretty intense setup to me. Note this item; 14. Custom clutch house clutch
that link I posted with the low 10sec full street red corolla doing wheelstand launches.... that is the very outfit, he told me did his clutch.
Perhaps contacting that nico member would shed some light
That would be one-off clutch, so probably expensive, and surely harder to get than more common SR20 clutches, I think
I finally got my hands to test-fit SR20 flywheel with CA18ET starter. Well, bad news is this starter doesn't fit this flywheel too good - it makes bad sounds when cranking, and flywheel teeth were damaged a bit after I cranked it for a few seconds... Did anyone else have this??
Anyone?
why bother? just get a decent CA clutch.
More holding force due to larger diameter and longer "leverage"... Also cheaper and plentiful flywheels and clutches
