Check my project thread out, cut the slam panel - around 2-3inch and moved rad forward, fits standard viscous fan and cowling.
Not had any heating issues yet.

I'm running with two 12" Kenlowe dual stage fans in front of my S13 Koyo rad, fitted with the Kenlowe fan controller and they seem to keep the engine nice and cool. No cutting of bodywork required.
Just having big fans doesn't necessarily mean they are shifting enough air, you might need to check the fan's throughput and compare to some of the other makes and designs out there. Looking at the Demon Tweeks catalogue, Kenlowe's 'regular' 12 inch fan shifts 1650 m3/hour, but the Kenlowe 'High Performance' dual speed 12 inch fans like the ones I 've got can shift 3126 m3/hour. So whilst they are both 12 inch fans, the High Performance model shifts nearly twice as much air...

And from my own experience you need to consider noise. It is very nice to have the straight six sound but pretty pointless if half the time all you can hear at load speed is the cooling fans. At idle the fans are louder than the exhaust.

If you are going to let a bit of fan noise put you off running an RB then you may as well sell up and buy a Prius

If you can hear the fans over the engine then your fans are shit.
Mine was just a stock fan from a Hyundai pony or something gay like that and it ran beautifully. The only time I could hear the fan is if I made a point of listening for it.

Plus the RB exhaust note should be heard so my exhaust was louder than the engine too.

Any one have any pics of a modified gearbox crossmember so all 4 bolts fit using the r33 standard mounts + crossmember? Measurement for the adapter blocks/plates would be even better, having a hard time fitting the gearbox, engine fits ok on the crossmember.

Also what kind of rads do you S14/a guys use? I bought a skyline 50mm thick one on ebay, but it seems there are different types of manual rads and mine is too high (40cm high core, SR standard is 36cm), sits around 5cm higher than the SR20 standard one so that's a no go... looking for alternatives and thinking of fabricating a bottom hose to fit the standard SR rad for now

Well How Many Left now shows engine size.
    Engines bigger than 1999cc.

200SX Auto 1 sorn (own up who are the 2 with 750cc to 999cc engines?)
    200 SX TURBO (S13/S14 base) 1 sorn
    200 SX EXECUTIVE Auto 0
    200 SX EXECUTIVE 0
    200 SX (S13/S14 base) 2 + 2 Sorn + 1 V8
    200 SX TOURING AUTO 0
    200 SX TOURING 2 (1 diesel)
    200 SX TURBO A (S13 91-92) 0
    200 SX TURBO A (S13 91-92) 1 Sorn

I make it from posts on this thread that there have been about 35 converted. 4 are on the road. 5 sorn. So either there's next to none left or most were never finished as not declared on reg doc.

How many left no longer shows model code.

Id guess a lot don't declare it or register it on v5, I know I wouldn't rush to pay the massive insurance hike

At the time you posted, mine was on the road and has the correct engine size in the log book (which took some doing, including having to get Nissan in Japan to write me a letter confirming the engine size against my engine number...). If 'How Many Left' is correct, I guess it must be one of the two listed as '200SX (S13/S14 Base)...

The insurance hike wasn't that massive from a stage 2 CA18 with all mods declared to a stage 1 RB25 with all mods declared. The key seems to be how much power over standard the engine is, so whilst there is bound to be a hike in cost for having a bigger engine, as it's not as highly tuned as the CA18, it didn't go up that much.
