What to do with rear fog light?

Putting a kit on my S14a and the rear Chargespeed bumper takes a jap plate but with nowhere for the existing fog light to go? How have other people got round this? Obviously need one for MOT's. Pics would be appreciated.

The tip for import S13s is either a) put a red bulb in one of the reversing lights, and wire that up as a fog, or b) wire up the inner two brake lights as fogs (with a diode to isolate the fog and brake circuits). Info here:

I've not done it yet, but when my car eventually arrives I intend to try option b) first. Obviously option c), stick on an external rear fog, is possible - depends whether you see a stick-on foglight as import-cool or an ugly bodge.

Thanks for the reply. Might give option b a go.

Was thinking that I could possibly use the original number plate surround with lights and modify the new bumper to suit? Looking at the new bumper it looks a bit plain without it. Thoughts people?

Buy one of the mini (6" long) high level LED brakelights, and mount it on the bottom lip of the bumper. It'll sit maybe 1cm below the bumper, and you'll never notice it.

Using a reversing light with a red bulb is cheap and

Using your S14 centre brake light is , and quite frankly dangerous!

Same as that Passed 2 MOTs since.

If you do it properly with the right type of bulb its fine and looks a lot better than having something hanging off the back bumper.

It may look neater to convert a reverse light, but there's a lot more chance it could be mistaken for a brake light. Plus with one on the bumper there's precisely zero chance you'll fail an MOT if the tester gets anal.

Your subtle one looks good jackal

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

    I converted one reverse light.

I painted the standard buld with my missus finest slut red nail varnish.

Isn't there a minimum height for mounting a foglight? Actually, I'm not sure, just assuming!
