    New Knight Rider, New KITT

    And it's pants!!

It looks like he's swapped bodies for his new appearance! I copied this from another source

'Sources with the involved companies tell us this is the real car -- the actual car to be used in the show. But, because "it wasn't working at the effects studio yesterday," someone did photoshop the red light. Our detective work's paid off on yesterday's rumor on the new KITT. Now not only do we have off the record confirmation from the "involved parties" that KITT will lose the GM third generation F-body (and legions of mullet-swinging fans), but also that he'll be moving up a few steps on the horsepower ladder. That's right, everyone's favorite talking car (no, not spelled K-A-R-R) will be played by a black-with-gray-stripes 550 HP Ford Shelby GT500KR Mustang in the new Knight Rider TV show. And thanks to a very helpful tipster who's preference is to remain anonymous (we don't blame 'em) we've got the proof to show you -- photos taken from inside of the vehicle build facility out in LA where they're prepping the new Knight Industries 'stang for Cylon-like close-ups. Yes friends, this is the new KI Two Thousand -- who wants to touch it? I said, who wants to touch it? OK, well how about just your two cents? Anybody?'

I like the look of the GT500, but the boggo standard mustangs look rubbish!

Sounds like crap to me. The 2 pics are photoshopped, so originally those are nothing more than a pic of an ordinary mustang with different wheels.

If they do use a Mustang, it won't be the same. Why not use a corvette which is closer to the shape of kitt. Oh unless ford are 'sponsoring' this of course.

Agreed too. Forgive my ingnorance but what was the original car? Kitt needs to look sporty and sleek, not a brick being shoved through the air by silly power.

It was a Trans Am. They could use a Firebird too, I think they still make them and follow a similar shape to the old Trans Am:

GM let them have the new shape Transam quite a while before it was released to the public, so at the time KITT looked super futuristic.
That won't work so well by using a car that attempts to look 30 years old.....................

They could use an S13, but it would be off the road for half a season

Its a story about an indistructable talking car that can ignore physics and suddenly launch itself over bolcking objects whilst simultaneously enganging the driver who was bought back from the dead with a dry yet witty reparte

And you guys are debating what the car should "look" like ???

Err ... ok .... considering the above synapse of the series .... I think the car looks fine, its an unbeleivable american talking car

The origional Ponticac, looked stupid in its day, all sleek and pointy ....... this day and age the uptodate look is a square brick ... I think it makes a great Kitt

They would just use shells and spring board them like in days of yore then a close up after the landing with not even a stone chip....
