ecu question
my s13 is a h reg 1990
it doesnt have a cat or lambda sensor
now my ecu numbers are
76
23710 44f02
mec-doo5 d1 0507
now i have been offered a ecu with a super chip in it "stage one" which is all im aiming for with this car
the numbers on the ecu are
66
23710 44 f01
mec-d005 c 9916
will this ecu work on my car? and if so, what numbers am i looking at that tell me that it will work?
cheers

hey,
the only differance in the electrics is that one is with manual AFM and the other is with automatic AFM(it has one pin less). So you need to find out what AFM uses your ECU and what AFM uses the other ECU. This info is encrypted in the ECU's numbers. Search in the forum and you will find a thread about this. Sorry I'm not familiar with this.

You should be alright with the ecu. The key numbers are the 44F01 and 44F02.
This means that you have a slightly later ECU currently in your car than the one you intend to replace it with but they are both for non-lambda cars and both for manuals and that is what is important.
Slightly less rosey is that you are planning on chipping it with a Superchip which don't seem to be very popular with 200SX owners.
If you haven't researched the subject I would suggest you do some searching and weigh things up before you take the plunge.
If you've thought it through then fair enough. Otherwise, ask for more info and I'll try to steer you in the right direction to get the information you'll need about buying parts to go with the chip, socketting the ECU, choosing a well matched replacement ECU and how much to expect to pay and what power gains you can expect at Stage 1.
Mine's currently Stage 1 making 240 bhp and 245 lb/ft at 16 psi on a T25.
