    GTR turbo on S13?

Can I upgrade my T25 to A R33 GTR standard turbo? Is it a straight swap like a T28 or what would I need to make it fit? Has anyone done it?

i think the skyline turbos have ceramic blades which arent good for upping the boost as they can break. you'd be better with and s14 or pulsar one

They have different elbows so wouldn't mate up to your exhaust and you'd struggle to get much more that 210 or so bhp out of them. Much better to use a T28 IMO

Oh really, just wanted to know. T28 is the deal but never thought of GTR ones.

They're actually technically smaller turbo's so don't try to use one.

2.6L engine, 2 turbos => each turbo works on a 1.3L engine witch is smaller then our 1.8L engine...

RB20DET runs only one Turbo on 2L - should work on ca18det too

That's a ceramic unit too, however.

I was under the impression the GTR turbos flowed slightly more than the T25, but not enough to be worth bothering with (we were looking at a pair for the VG30, but decided it wasn't worth it). I'm probably wrong as it was only a brief bit of research

I once saw a GTR turbo in the flesh and its easy to see why its no use. The internal size of the turbine and compressor, expecially on the turbine is tiny. Only half of the port size compared to a T2.

Yes, but it runs out of puff fairly quickly at the top end and isn't suitable for anything over 0.9bar really

It's a different size to the GTR turbo also

In summary, Skyline turbos are a different mani to turbo flange, different exhaust outlet and different orientation - pretty tough to get to fit and probably not worth the effort
