    Cleaning Parts

just wondering if there is anything around the house that you could use to clean parts, or would this not work?

as my cam covers, sump and inlet manifold are covered in gunk and would like to clean them up before i put my engine back together.

5 litres of jizer is about £10, stick some in a squirty bottle and get a 2 inch paintbrush to work it all in

cillit bang or cif are actually quite good although "woman" tend to complain like fcuk when they go to use it and it's a/not there or b/bottle covered in oily residue seem to find the latter worse tho lol

Just give it to the wife and tell her that if she gets it clean enough you'll give her a good seeing-to tonight for her trouble.

seriously, if you can't get any proper workshop degreaser or the wife to sort it then any household degreaser type cleaner like cillit bang, cif or fairy will do the job with a bit of work, some hot water and a stiff brush

or give it to the wife to clean and go give the bit on the side a damn good seeing to, since wife is likely to be crabit and not wanting a seeing to, due to said cleaning duties lol

use the dishwasher. I´ve seen people putting in almost a complete engine: head, cilinder block pistons and rods..... the parts came out clean and shiny and with a fresh lemon smell
