Actually, I told you the provisional date, which has changed, its now early August.

The post in members section .....

Well, it comes that time again that we start to think about TOTB.

I'll be the team captain again and will do my best to pick a fair and varied team for all the disciplines, and think we could have our best year and largest team ever! There are so many great cars being built. Team criterai below.

    Last years thread
    http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=387312

However this year it will also be a 2 day event with camping and RWYB for drag/handling the day before also. So a great weekend out for everyone, you can come and play the day before and prove that I was wrong and I should have picked you instead

The tickets are well priced if bought through the club, we will also have a club stand, Free BBQ/Car-B-Q for members etc so you wont have to buy over-priced burgers on the day making it even better value!

    Hi Kev,

Will the 200 SX Owners Club be having a prence at Ten of The Best this year. The event is running over the weekend of 7th and 8th August 2010.

There will also be an opportunity to enter Run Wot Ya Brung on Saturday on a handling circuit as well as the drag strip. I think you need to make enquiries in advance to do this as places are limited. One winner from the handling and drag strip will be given a golden ticket to race with the Best of the Best on Sunday.

Tickets for entry on to Elvington Airfield are bought at a reduced rate in advance and you would need to let me know how many you need for your Club members. Prices are:

    One Day Entry Ticket Ł12
    Two Day Entry Ticket Ł20
Wkend Ticket Ł30 includes entry into camping area

Let me know as soon as you can if you intend to display as a club and take advantage of reduced rate tickets.
Info for the team, and extra consideration this year will also be 200's with a 200SX engine. If its very close between two people, I'll pick the car "most 200".

To be honest it really hasnt mattered at all over the past few years, the team has always picked itself with only a handful of cars being race ready at picking time.

I do think we can feild 8-10 cars, running a few off my head ...
    Ken
    Jez
    Bren
    Me
    800BHP
    Phil Morrison
.....and I hear Bigtone is rebuilding ...

We are only a boat trip for the likes of Shogun/Mobe to come over from Sweden

Please dont be offended if I havent listed YOU, just put your name forward and do things to push your car onto the list. For drag you really need to be aiming under 12 secs for sure, for topspeed - thats a little harder to judge but is mainly down to power, that leaves handling so you have to be doing trackdays or better still sprint events to show you have the car and driver to compete.

Re-posting the team picking speil... we should have 8-10 this year

After the best SXOC showing for a while last year we have been offered more spots for 2008.

To be honest guys I'm reluctant to ask for more than 5

Last year we only had 4/5 actually take part, and that was good for our past history.

We did however mange 2 3rd places, BigTone clocking some insane top speed and placing superbly, and I did ok myself on the handling.

So, who is SERIOUS about TOTB 7 ?

Think about it carefully please, and make sure the answer to all the questions is YES.

    1) My car has worked recently, works now, or will work very shortly.
    2) My car is to a high spec for at least 1 of the 3 disciplines tested on the day, or will perform all round.
    3) I am reliable and would be proud to represent the club.

Please don't post if you only expect your standard car to have 8000bhp by then once you have dropped in the rolls royce jet engine, and not actually have something tangible with some proof to back up the claims on 1/4 mile, top speed or handling capabilities of your car.

The top speed this year will be 1km, not 1 mile.
Too many cars doing 200mph I think its 3 years since it was dropped from 1.25miles to a mile for the same reason.

This I posted last year is still valid

Just been looking through this and the car looks great

I was also wondering where you got the lock for the kouki lights from as I've been looking for one for my lights for years

Also great work on the write up to change the locks over, that'll save me a few pennies when I do find one as I was going to go to a lock smith and get them to change it for me

    Kev mate,

IŽll change the date on our site to follow your information.

I just had a chat with a company widening rims. Some 1,5-2" extra in the rear will do good

If I can afford it (yes I can) I am possibly investing in a good set or tyres.

    Thanks pal,

the lock was provided with the kit as an original part. Nissan sell them since the Kouki kit is an oem package.

You can also move the lock a bit outwards by using some washers. Just remember to seal off the gap/opening with some rubber/sealant.

    60 ft-lbs (81,4 Nm)

Yes, I used Plastigauge to measure the clearance and it was all OK.
Regarding the thrust clearance, I used Feeler Gauges.

Picked up my new Tial waste gate valves from Svensk Turboservice yesterday. They came straight from the Tial assembly line in the USA.

Worth waiting for! They are the new, upprated version with integrated water cooling.
How small are they? I compared them with the earlier bolt on 38mm Tial WG and I can tell you. They are very small! Good! Since I do a twin installation and there isn't much space to talk about.

    MV-S V2.0
This revamp features water cooling ports, three bottom air ports and two top air ports. Water ports are not required for operation, but come in handy at road racing, the top hat is close to the turbine housing/down pipe or when the engine bay doesn't get a lot of airflow. Air and Water ports are clearly marked so there is no confusion.

    (mine are silver/aluminum coloured).

Sometimes the difference between big and small is very obvious
