i'm looking to get time off to join danny, matty, ***** if they can make it

    i know it's what i'd want

he made the effort to do jae 4 years running, it'd be a tiny gesture in comparison.

We're waiting to hear if the family would like us to attend or not mate, I don't think it would be appropriate if it's not what they want

You should send a pm to http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/member.php?u=2318 as he knew Fernando pretty well. He is making a list of dutch SXOC'ers who whould like to attend to the funeral.

I've asked one of the girls in my office if she could translate the news report into more understandable English.

She has, would anyone like me to post it up or prefer if I leave it off?

There is a proper one a few posts below the original translation

Monday 23/07/07- On the Motorway E40 between Gistel and Middelkerke a person died in a harsh accident. A 26 year old driver from Holland hit a german truck head on.

The dutch driver has lost control over the vehicle for an unknown reason and crossed the mid-section to end up in the opposing traffic.

At the scene of the accident there is no guard rail between the drive lane and the middle section. The driver collided with the german truck who was travelling in the direction of Veurne.

The car immediatly cought fire. Witnesses of the accident were able to put the fire out quickly but for the duthc driver all help came too late. The driver of the german lorry was allright.

Because of the accident a 3 km traffic jam occured, traffic in the direction of france could only pass on one lane.

RIP Fernando, didn't know him personally though sure I got zapped by his electric fly swat at JAE a couple of years ago. Thoughts are with his friends and family.

Only just seen this horrific news.

Unbelievable... am at a loss for words. He spent ages on Saturday night teaching a couple of us how to say rude words in Dutch. Really top bloke, and a tragic loss.

Fernando and his friends were near us at J.A.E very friendly bloke
we could all show a mark of respect by say putting a black X on the back of
our cars would be a mass way of showing he is remembered as a top bloke
who was with us over here at a time when we all show that J.A.E is

Im totally in shock at the moment, I was sat next to Fernando on a double camping chair chatting to him and some one of the other Dutch guys.

Really, really nice chap. This has totally stunned me.
