I know what it's like to lose a SX brother.
My hopes and thoughts go out to the family; may they find peace.

Sad news
never met the guy but from the thread he sounds like one of a kind
RIP
thoughts for family and frends
Id ask that the people like myself who cannot make it over to the funeral, observe a minutes silence at 1:30pm in memory of Fernando

certainly will, sounded like a top bloke
journey well fernando, our prayers are with you
Just got back from the funeral, it was very crowded, loads of SXOC people, as well as family, collegues etc. etc.
Such a shame, way too young to go
Silence observed today, RIP Fernando!
I am sure you are looking down on us today still smiling as you did, fun loving guy who probably never though that you would have had an impact on the SXOC like this.
Condolences to the family & although i could not make the funeral it makes me proud to be part of a club that cares enough that some of the senior members of the club made the journey on our behalf.
His memory will go on & you will be remembered, i bet your probably introducing the man upstairs to the sport we all love in the club today & await his decision & membership. Then maybe we can all have access to his track when we join him.
I think a small silence & rememberance at next years JAE would be nice gesture to remember you.
I have a poem that i think is appropiate as long as the board does not object-:
Death is nothing at all...
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I, and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way you always used.
Put no difference into your tone
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was
Let it be spoken without effort,
without the ghost of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was;
there is absolutely unbroken continuity....
Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you for an interval,
Somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well
Farewell big fella till we meet again Fozzie.

I saw the start of this thread last week, but it wasn't until I logged in today and saw the pictures that I could put a face to the name. I missed JAE this year but obviously remember him from previous JAEs and, as everyone here has said, he was a really nice bloke.
I'm glad that some of the club could make it over to his funeral and pay our last respects. Pretty devastating thing to happen, but at least his last weekend was a good 'un
The thread has been removed from its own section, and this is a reminder as we let this slip away unforgetten
