Well the methodology isn't too different from how I did an S13 install, but instead of using 2 short shafts you would need to have a custom shorter one made up.

Was out all weekend so did the driveshafts today.

This photo I took may be of benefit to the S12 kids who want to do an S13 LSD conversion. With the S15 diff however, two shafts need to be assembled with one shaft extra short.

So from the left, S12/910 CV joint housing and spider assembly on the right the S13 CV joint assembly.

Both made up. I used some steel cable ties

And in place. Having bolting at both ends makes it easier to remove them.

Rust removal... I've been using Deox gel, but it's a bit expensive, although using a Deox C solution is a better option for small bits.

I went a bit cheap and tried vinegar on nuts and bolts but if they're as rusty as a real old Datsun bolt then it takes a week to sort them out.

Yesterday I bought citric acid from a chemist and used that to do the driveshaft bolts. It's cheap too and essentially the same as Deox from what I can tell. Costs £7 for 2kg online...

How did you use the citric acid?

There's a ton or so of powder in our warehouse. I may have to take some 'samples'

Well clearly you need to send some of that down my way please

I used 50g with 1 litre of water. I believe thats a weak solution but I was doing it for the first time so didn't want to come back and find the bolts have vanished.

I'll probably go with twice the concentration on the next set of bolts later this week.

They're random ones I've collected over the years. I sprayed them with vinyl and rubber stuff from auto glym that I use on the Thunderbird vinyl roof

Lol, despite the vagueness it can catch up... in the end...

I seriously hate rust. Each time I see some it demotivates me

So... On to the front. My axle stands are quite nice, on lowest they do the job. Need 2 more really, but they aint cheap...

As expected the inside of the suspension tower (wheel perspective) is cack, but far worst than I hoped.

It's previously been plated from the other side, but this hasn't stopped the rust getting through at all. I'll grind it back more to see what the best way to sort it is.

Some bolts in a slightly richer 750ml / 50g citric solution.

    Bubbling away

I've got a pair of 6t axle stands you can borrow for long term if you need them, they stand quite high on the lowest settings

Thanks for the offer Mel, I'll probably be ok as the back end is all finished except for brake bleeding.

I failed. It's not citric acid. We have 9 kilos of that It's boric acid that we have loads of.

Some of the bolts took just a few hours but other bolts I left them for 18 hours. Here's one of them below. The bolts rust very easily after this process even after fully washing them. It would make sense to zinc coat them, but I'm happy as long as they don't look as cack as they did before.
