You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

Just wondering how this car is now? I would be interested to see how it held up after all your work since you have done everything the correct way

Thank you for taking the time to post all this stuff. There is some great information in there.

My S12 is way too bad to ever get it back to this level. But it certainly shows me what can be done on a driveway. Looking at learning to weld, especially the non cosmetics parts unless I ever get good at it.

    Serious inspiration right here.

    Hi Pete,
I'm restoring a 97 S14A that was stripped of a lot of its mechanical parts.I'm currently repairing the boot floor. I've looked through the first 40 pages of this thread but can't find a clear picture of the object fitted in the large hole at the front of the boot underneath near the subframe on the drivers side. Is it just a bung in that hole or pipework/wiring of some kind?

    Superb thread by the way.

    Thanks, Gary. Owner of P587DBV

Yes it is. IIRC if you lift the boot carpet up you can remove the plate to gain access.
Wow it's a long time since I've been on this forum! I still have the this S14a and the S13 too

Hi. Thanks for the replies. Not that hole, its the smaller one in the front of the boot floor at the very bottom of that photo just to the right of the subframe mounting bolt.

I think thats the loom that goes to the diff Ims_200sx. Access to the fuel pump / sender is through the large plate.

Carcoons last about 4-5 years Chris before they drop to bits.

I've thought about selling one of the SX's. I wouldn't know which one to sell though. The S14 is probably the better car but I seem to prefer driving the 13.

It is and it's still in mint condition. That said it's been dry stored and well looked after since I finished it. It's done zero miles but I've started it and warmed it up frequently.
My circumstances however have recently changed and I've decided to sell it.
I have absolutely no doubt that this is the best, non molested example in existance. I've heard stories of Nissan having one in their museum in Japan. I contacted them and they don't. Other stories of low mileage examples come to nothing when pics are asked for. It's all BS.
This car has never been damaged or welded. The front bumper and door handles have beeen sprayed but that's it as far as the outer finish is concered, it really is original. I also have the original wheels and tyres, front splitter and various other parts.
It's a 1997 S14a touring, two previous owners, 52K miles - I bought it off a very close friend. In actual fact I changed the oil on it when it was 2 years old. I've loads of documentation but I guess this thread tells the whole picture.
I know I'll get asked the price......

    £23K

I have too many car's and not enough storage for them all. Some of you might know I have an S13 in similar condition, I've decided to keep that and use it as my daily so it's not the end of the line of SX ownership for me. I'm also keeping my Mini which took 7 years to build. I'm also keeping my S2000.

PM me if your interested but I'm in no rush to sell it and to be honest, it could be a 40K car in the not too distant future. Look at Skyline values.
I'd rather it go to someone on here who appreciates what's been done to this car and the attention to detail
