Nicely is likely to know for sure, but I doubt the DVLA have any CO2 data on any S15s, so the tax disc would be paid on the old system. £180/year as from this afternoon.
they're also too old to be included in the new band forms of tax.
I paid £175 for mine in Jan'.....
where as a mate of mine paid £210 for his golf GTi...haha!
well they might be too old but its for cars registered after march 2006? well isnt that going to include imports which have yet to be registered? Are they saying that if they dont have the info on them then its just back to the old system?
Its car registered after March 2001 that are effected by the £300-400 road tax, however, the S15 is classed on the old system (£175), so wont be effected, unless the S15 your looking to buy was made after March 2001.
Some one beat me to this question.
I was thinking along the same lines as will_c. A last of the line s14a is in band F, only cars registered after 23/03/06 that will be award band G (400 quid a year ) But due to a freshly imported s15 being registered after this point, and obviously being simular carbon to a 14a, will it be G???????

Help???
The S14 and S15 are not measured by there Co2 emissions, I think its only NEW cars registered after March 2001 (S15 wont be new) fall into the banding, the S14 doesnt as its too old, so is the S15, hense our £175 and not £210 that the current highest band pay.
Cheers topper.
Good to know you could now tax an old bentley turbo running into single figure mpg, for around half as much as 24mpg 350z.
Unless, of course, it a post March 2001 S15. Then you're fooked.... The same applies to post March 2001 S14as (there are a few), even though none were manufactured after Dec 1999...

I read it as March 23rd 2006 that will get properly stung, big cars registered before then would be in band 'F' I think (190 quid).
For a full breakdown (read: confusing!) check http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring...le/DG_10012524
I have read that, and it states the following -
Only New cars registered after March 2001 will fall into this, any car older than that, wont.Originally Posted by DVLA
It goes on to state that ones registered on or after March 23rd 2006 (greater than 225 g/km) will be placed in band 'G' - 300 quid.
So what's the CO2 reading for a properly setup SR20DET?
No idea at all. A boggo Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe 3.6 litre petrol puts out 269 g/km though, if that's any help.
More's the point, what do 20 plus year old sheds (which aren't subject to cats and modern emissions testing) produce?
:To slow:
I included valuable reference data aswell
