As we put her back together we find a few things need a little tweaking here and there..

    the turbo for instance..

a little off the top Sir..

    Another day at ND's...

Today we have been getting ready for rolling roading..

First we had a few bits and bobs to finish off first..

    Water sensor needed fitting..

Mike drilled and taped the thermostat housing for the new sensor..

While Mike was sorting the water sensor I started on the exhaust.

    From the turbo straight down..

    a bit of welding..

    and straight out the side..

    sweet..

She is now ready for her rolling road debut

I decided to dump the complete wiper system.. the car is going to be a bastid to control in the dry so no point even trying to drive her in the wet..

Re the side exit exhaust, if the car gets trailered a lot, it's worth dropping a cap over the exit or as the air passes over the trailer and end of the exhaust it will draw air out and the turbo will 'windmill' and the bearings can run dry. Not a problem on day one but could be an issue after a season. Always see stuff like ex le Mans car with things like shower caps over the exhausts.
More of problem with journal bearing turbos than ball bearing turbos to be fair, but good housekeeping.

This is astonishing. 728 hp from a 1.8. That is a higher specific out than an F1 engine!

impressive. so nice to see a ca being used as well instead of the usual sr/rb/jz route.
