Only thing is - you're not going to lose any stiffness cutting off the old wings are you? I know it's practically spaceframed anyways...
its solid and leaving the old wing there is more weight also i'm tying in the shell to the space frame with 3mm plate with hole in

missed this has taken a while and i did fall out with it for a while but now im back into it now, but plenty of custom work left to do, only the engine and gearbox will not be included into the space frame all suspension will

still working on the rear subframe suports
cut off the bottom section of the chassis rail holding the studs, [

the way Nissan did it was press the stud into a collar weld a closing plate over the top with a bolt passing through the plate into the top of the stud
i made a frame that picks up on that bolt that i have welded into the side chassis rails and allows me to get the right position for the studs when i cut away the original rail

then all i need to o after removing the old rail was make a new one [going to use a 40mm tank cutter to make loads of holes to keep down the weight]

trial fitment of the main rail, packed up after this as im to old and cold

beleive that when I see it
Mind you, it's taken me most of a day to try to fab up a battery bracket, before giving up So i think you win.
At least your car isn;t currently held together by weather proofs and zip ties, as my battery is
