Got your weight saving bits here dude, get cutting
Got your weight saving bits here dude, get cutting
Saturday afternon/sunday I'll drop them over when it's convenient for you, may need to ask your windy impact gun a DC2 crank bolt related favour...
what a pain mig welding this lot, im right handed and had to do a lot of left have welding and thats a right pain
really tight up by the roof
next job is to cut off the rear quarters so i can fit the 50mm wider ones
that is one beefy cage
Cambelt change Don't worry - nothing more serious!
Let me know when you'r around and I'll pop over
this is near enough going to be a space frame by the time you've done, mite as well get rid of the whole back floor now
theres more to fitting overfenders than i thought
first cut off the old wing leaving 25mm to bond to
work out a cut line so i can extend the inner arch [which i will do tomorrow as its cold and dark now]
then it should end up like this
big to Si for collecting the overfenders from Ken and dropping them around my place, true gentleman

Jesus on a flippin' moped, you don't hang about!
I'd just like to point out that when I left Mr CTR's house at about half 3, both rear wings were most definately still in one piece!
NP dude, that means I only owe you about 18 favours now
Oh, and it's a normal thread apparently!
With regards bonding agent...
Do you ever want them to come off again?
Look up your local distributor of this:
http://www.itwplexus.com/home.html
It's a self-mixing 2 part adhesive. You get a special gun to dispense it, and once it's cured, you wont ever have to worry about your trim flapping or coming off.
If you want somethings that will come off if you need it to....
http://www.sika.co.uk/tech-elseal-bond Sikaflex 552 will be ideal

It's not cheap, but you dont need much They'll be able to point you to a local distributor if they wont sell direct, but they should sell direct.
had a couple of hours on the drivers side quarter
then the wire feed jammed on the mig good reason to stop for the night
THAT's how to do overfenders
Only thing is - you're not going to lose any stiffness cutting off the old wings are you? I know it's practically spaceframed anyways...
Yep- this car looks pretty serious!
Looks like a thorough job, good sense of achievement? Or is completion to far away still?
