I know these are prone to bootlids and big ends but never knew about the chassis. anything I should look for in particular? rotten/bent/snapped rails? sills?

    Here's a beauty of an example :http://media.sxoc.com/contributors/s13faq/rot.pdf

Nowt that can't be welded up. The above link's example car got broken and crushed, but people have fixed worse.

    Excellent guide - thank you

and no the chassis is nothing like the one in the guide, the only rust spots are on the rear wheel arch and the boot. chassis seems nice and solid and the sills are good too. underbody was waxoyled so should be good for a while

who knows, maybe Nissan's will grow on me, only had it 13 days and ain't really had a chance to see what's it's really like as I've always got my little one with me...I've always had Ford's (with a Golf thrown in aswell) so what do you expect me to say...and no it's not brave of me, we live in a country of free speech and surely part of the idea of a forum is for us to give our opinions?

Anyway good luck with getting the 200sx up and running, I've got 2 sat on my drive so if the other half don't hurry up and sort them out I will be putting them on here for people to help themselves to parts watch this space lol

Whoah, steady on , no-one was being serious

It's not badge-alliance or owt on here, we just like the 200sx . I'd rather have a new Mondeo over a Primera any day

It was a great idea when I did it - you had to pay a premium for FWD cars cos all the old nails were RWD - god I loved that MK2 Escort, I drove like such a chav in it "powersliding" on every corner, just about 30 or 40 mph slower than the S13!

I always wanted an Escort Cosworth Monte Carlo, part of me still does but I know theres a lot of other cars out there that are so much faster now, thats one of the reasons why I got rid of the RST, sad to say but she just wasn't cutting it anymore lol

    Hello and welcome...

TBH the car looks clean and quite good.

But if you have bought it as a Stage 2 SX i would not expect too much of it.

Anyway good luck with the car And take it easy in the first time

    Yay

This is a line wot was said in the first post....

    I don't know much about these but its a 1991 red 200sx stage 2.
Well a stage 2 200 sx would have some more things added. And surely it would be running a bigger intercooler. Dont think u will find a Stage 2 chip in the ECU aswell

    Ah get ya now

The misses wrote the first post, she doesn't know much about cars bless her

I've had the ECU open and the chip in there doesn't look like a standard one it has "SRB" written on it and is sitting in a cradle. Not sure what stage chip that is but definately not standard.

Car has also got a GTO wmic. Looks a bit of a bodge job underneath but as far as I know the GTOs have twin intercoolers 1 for each turbo and can run 300bhp between them, so I doubted this one on its own is much of an improvement over the standard jobbie. A friend of mine is ditching his GTR intercooler soon for an HKS one, so I'll try and take that off his hands, could be a good upgrade

    Will do

Does SRB ring any bells? I've been doing a bit of searching and most people on here tend to go for a "Jez" chip or a ND, never heard of SRB

If its an Ebay jobbie it's going in the bin
