    Arrow Opinions please

After hearing the dreaded rattle, I have finally got round to removing the sump. From what I can see 2 & 3 shells are shot, but the crank looks fine. Which means I can just replace the knackered shells?
Here are some pics let me know if I'm right or wrong.......

Also I noticed the fins on the inlet side of the turbo have debris damage should I bin or will it be ok?

I'd say the crank is probably scored - and something has been through that turbo !

I guess you're doing it with the engine in? If not, take the crank out and than you can see if it's ok and feel if there are small scratches with your nail, if not, than it's fine.

But I have to say, my BE's were really loud and the crank survived. Plus I hear allot of people who say there crank survived too so put my money on yours being fine

Looks like I'll be changing the turbo as well then
Assuming the crank is fine, do I get the shell size from the numbers stamped on the shells? Or is it the numbers stamped on the first counter balance?

The only way to be sure, would be to get a micrometer on it.

But if there's no visual damage, and can't feel a lip, then you should be OK

Did the turbo work fine before? Does it work fine now? Than why replace it, who cares?

turbo certainly looks like some sort of somethin has got in there, In theory the air filter should protect against the nasties that destroy turbines!! ave u still got the box or cone filter, might want to change the element, to prevent it happening again, has the turbo got any play in it? if its pretty firm and its boosting ok then it should be ok, but it its like jelly then new turbo time!!!!

Put new shells on it. If it's fooked it'll stay fooked, if it fixes it, then it's all pie!

As for the turbo - replace that ugly mo'fo before it breaks properly and spits it's insides through your intercooler.
