    Jaguar XJ220 TWR

Typo error in the title XJ220 and all

I didn't even know this car existed until I started researching road homologations of super cars. Oh, sweet lord

I am, in love Car Pornography!!!!

It's my understanding the "regular" XJ200 used the 2.8 V6 Turbo from the Metro 6R4, but there's a rumour about the TWR variant being a V12?

    Any information appreciated car nuts!

I beat you to it with the title edit Recheck the first post, but cheers mate.

It's a pretty special motor ain't it. I thought the XJ220 looked nice, but this is just a whole new spin on it. I found it when I was looking for loads of road homologations of super/hyper cars.

That TWR special is pant wettingly good

Hope they sorted the brakes though as the standard ones were crapper than a crap thing.

That's awesome - The 220 really stands out in an era when most supercars were boxy and angular - it's just one gorgous blend of sweeping curves and flowing lines
and it looks fecking terrifying in black! Imagine seeing that in your rear view mirror

The 6R4 had a 3.0 N/A V6 built by TWR. The original design for the XJ220 was to use Jag's 6.0 V12 and was 4WD, but problems meeting current emissions rules meant they used TWR's V6, enlarged to 3.6 litres and fitted with twin turbos and made it RWD only.

That car is cool, very nice.

Saw that XJ220 van at Goodwood a few years back, quite fast and amusing, but I'm not convinced it was the right thing to do TBH. Should've left it as an XJ220. Would be very amusing if its road legal though.
