Good to see her legal again Andy, now get her out there and prove she can drift.
alternatively stack her into a tyre wall mid 3rd gear drift like me

well here is an update for you all

the car is not back on the road yet as i had hoped

ran into a problem where the car was not acclerating right, or going hrough the rv range quick enough, we thought it was an ignition problem

    so changed the leads/dizzy cap/rotor arm/plugs

this did not sort the problem

so next thing we checked was the timing which was out slighlty, after we sorted thiswe could not even get the car to start, so next up was a compression check

    which gave these results

    here are the figures
    dry
    1 130
    3 155
    2 103
    4 112

    wet
    1 135
    3 163
    2 120
    4 132

    according to the books

min is 142 and max 179 with a max of 14psi differance

so strip the head off to discover one ****ed head gasket

and once ****ed cylinder number3 and a ****ed piston

so i ordered a new TRD 0.8 metal headgasket as it was cheaper than a standard one

it got delivered by a courier but it was fcuking well folded in half
contacted fensport they went apeshit and are sending me a replacment asap

in the meantime i have decided to scrap my engine as it is an early model 3rib big port engine

going to go with an engine from a AE92 FWD corolla as it is the later 7rib smallport engine so better for further modification in the future

all that is left to go is the gearbox now and when that goes i am fitting a supra box instead of the T50 as it is cheaper and stronger

well collected my engine from preston

199.9 miles down and the same back

left at 3:30 pm got there at about 7:15 pm left an hour later and got home at 12:45am my 1.6 mk2 jetta wasnt to keen on the hills on the way back haha with trailer and engine on tow

64k 7rib engine assuming it is a redtop as it has red cam lettering

seems in pretty good nick, has new dizzy cap, rotor arm, leads, and plugs, t-vis also looks new but thats not much use to me.

still waiting on parts to arrive befre the rebuild can start

anyone know of the MR2 or AE86 crank is better?

    anyway here are some pics

well i think something is missing from the picture below
    anyone guess what it is

and here is some of what is missing here this is the fubared one

clutch and flywheel removed as that is what i need off of that block
everything else is being replaced with new

212mm flywheel and a helix paddle clutch

so waiting on gasket set an AE101 oil pump to arrive ands then thats everything

Also think i have settled on what route i am going to go with my engine

going to stick with the 16v 4A-GE, but aiming for 200bhp

This will be acheived using mainly TODA components but with a few other manufacturers as well

the P.A.S.S racing lightweight underdrive pulley kit

    http://store.autosportsupplies.com/m...tegory_Code=EP
illegal garage one peice lightweight prop

    http://forums.club4ag.com/zerothread?id=5600
Lightweight Flywheel, possably toda but not sure yet

    lighten and balance crank, flywheel

    and the
    AE86 high cam computer KIT.
    (STAGE-III Type 200PS)

    Price: $4500

    Kit contents
    (1)TODA forged piston set (ø81.00mm / ø81.25mm / ø82.00mm)
    (2)High power camshaft IN 280 (10.3) x1 EX 288 (10.5) x1
    (3)Adjustable cam pulleys x2
    (4)Inner-shim KIT
    (5)TODA Fuel computer.(Standard computer trade-in)
(6)Fuel MAP switch ( fuel control) with fuel regulator
    (7)Sports injection KIT
    Adjustable cam pulleys x2
    Up rated valve springs set

Option : Ignition timing MAP switch (for Ignition timing control)

the TODA kit comes to about £2260

everything else is about £1500 including mapping

which should see in excess of 200bhp

    87 levin
    irish rear lights, trd shocks,
    trd 1.5
    roll cage
engine rebuilt 1640cc 3rib big port
    superlites
    jasma exhaust

this is the way i bought it. i need to underseal it soon and fix a leak in the boot somewhere. my plan was to strip it in the next few months and see what i need to fix(if any) and throw in an ae111 20v. i looked at buying an ae92 high torque engine. but after suming up the pro's and con's im going to go the 20v route. stock bt 20v with a programmable ecu will make 150+ wbhp. thats a pretty good base. but i might have a career change in september, which i will be away from home a lot for 3 years if i get it, so ill have to wait and see.

i dont know what is needed to put them back in mate, never had to take them out, we just ran some clear sealer round the edges and that sorted the problem for me, if you take the back lights off th gasket is probably ****ed underneath it

anyway it is now time for me to retire to bed
