Also picked a pair of these up
using them for track/drift wheels the now untill I have the cash to get them refurbshed then will use them as my daily alloys
Good thread mate! love the car! Keep it up
So all my plans came to nought 4 years ago when the car stopped running and I lost interest!
So here is a small update.
Well on Wednesday me and my mate checked over the hachi. So it could be moved yesterday
The car has not ran since Feb 2009 possible a little longer.
We are moving it to his place so it can go in his double garage and work on it. Checked the oil in the diff, we were going to try and un seize the brakes. But they were fine! car rolled easily. put air in all the tyres. Took the front bumper off so we can tow it easily.
Going to straight bar the car to his place. It's only 2 miles so it's not to far. Car is insured. Just not taxed or MoT'd lol.
Can't wait to get stuck into it. I plan to help him when I can. He is a mechanic by trade.
So the car got moved yesterday. Went without a hitch! Thankfully.
Got the Aero out of the way. Along with the trailer. Pushed the Hachi to the end of the drive, and out onto the road. Got my mates Audi A4 in front. Got it lined up, Attached the straight bar. Made sure all was secure. And that my other mate was ready to follow. As I could nnot find my lightboard. He followed and acted as our break lights and indicators lol.
Mate towed me at 25mph. Nice steady pace. Considering the car has not moved in 4 years.
She towed fine. No strange noises. No clunks that should not have been there.
Few pics. And a wee vid.

Glad your getting stuck back into it dude and getting it rolling again
Ive not had mine running now for just over a year and can't wait to hear the thing scream again , I guess you will be even more so given that its been 4 years !
What are the plans for it ?
Cheers lewys. Yeah I can't wait to hear the scream again.
My plans are get it running, get it road worthy again. And just drive it! Leve it as it is and enjoy it.
Cool cool , Is it still the ignition / electrical problems your having ?
Yeah. Same problem. I just lost interest. And left it lying on the drive!
I'm predicting 1 loose wire...and if it is....Colin and I shall make sure you never hear the end of it Andy! :-)
Glad to see you've got the interest again to let danny fix it though
So if you ignore the post from 2012. It's 5 years since I updated this threead.
The car stopped running. And it was down to a wiring issue.
I spent months trying to sort it and never managed it.
I lost heart in it. And interest as well.
Roll forward all these years and I want her back!
She is dirty and has a few probs. But the main problem is still wiring.
So to aid in this I have moved the car to a friends unit where I can work on her over the winter. And be dry when doing it.
Today me and my mate stripped out the
Front seats
Front of the roll cage
Carpets
Dash
And the crash bar.
This gives us full access to the wiring.
In the last year I have built a slammed stripped Suzuki ignis Sport. When really I should have been working on my Hachi.
I've now realised this. And the Hachi is now my main priority.
Good to see you getting back on. I would rethink that harness position in the Ignis though.
Cheers bud.
What makes you say that?
Had to build a new loom for mine from scratch haha the wiring on these old things can be shocking. Good to see your getting it progressed be nice to see another back on the road
wiring shouldnt be an issue, check for a live to the ignition switch, check your earth from the battery to the body, check the ecu is gertting an ignition live and earth, anything that should be getting power after the key is turned, but the switch is your main feed to the fuse box. stop messing about and just get it running now its taken too long.........lol
You are right. It's taken far to long.
However the wiring looks like a rat's nest. So taking it all out. And starting again.
Ahahah I hope "slammed" wasn't used seriously!
The 86 looks very cool indeed! I hope the wiring isn't anything too problematic.
Lol no not really seriously.
It wiuld be lower. But because I've went 9j on the alloys I can't lower it anymore lol.
Hmm wiring. Look at the pics and I can't describe it is anything but a rat's nest haha.
