    Shell VPower

    Hi guys,

Two weeks ago i bought an 1997 S14 with 120000 Km (i'm in italy), I went to dyno to have the car tested and it turned out to have 216 hp @ the crank.

The car is completely stock but it was running on Shell VPower fuel, which has 100 octanes.

It seems that the SR20DET likes high octane fuel.

Did nay of you experimet with such fuel?

yeah, nearly as much as we experiment with the search feature

loads of folks use it here mate, that and tesco 99 ron are pretty much the standard fuel used by folks here. though ours is 99 ron not 100 ron.
with 216 at the crank i'd be very surprised if something else hadn't been done to be honest, they make 200 or thereabouts as standard when new.
    good Result anyway

Got to say, its not the first time i have heard stories of stock (if it is) s14s pulling in big numbers on good fuel.

Isn't the Jap Silvia quoted as being 216bhp on 100 RON? If so then whats the difference?

I got you on that! I used the search button!

The only mod i did to the car before the dyno run was unplugging teh EGR, but i doubt that added any power.

I did do the FBU, but it was after the dyno run. Now i think i might be pulling 230 at the crank. We'll see at the next dyno run

Where can I get a replacement pipe for the fbu experiment. I have a boost gauge fitted along with both de cat pipes, just want to try it for interest sake not going to run it full time as i guess it aint good without walbro and cold plugs.

just use any rubber or silicone hose to replace the standard pipe. Be careful, wild boost spikes can occur
