Got myself a new torch Managed to get home while it was light today and cracked on and got the pump off. No problem with the bearing. Managed to do it with the timing belt still in place and the rad too .

After opening a thread in s13 tech about my pump I worked out that the old thermostat was overpressuring the pump due to not having a jiggle pin and caused the gasket to blow, hence the waterfall. On this next pic you can see the orange water stain on the gasket (to the right of photo) where its let go

I know these last few posts have been mundane but I hope it can help someone else with simialr problems like mine. Hopefully once this is sorted we can move on to more interesting posts, thanks for reading.

Well, the pumps back in with the gasket and universal blue.

Yet to drive it but its been running with no leaks.....so far so good
Had a little play in the boot and bolted up a cusco rear brace.

As you can see Ive taped it up near the battery just incase. I can get on and mount the battery box propperly now, I know where it can go with the brace in.

So far so good. I have been driving it about and there does not seem to be any leaks from anywhere, so I took it to work for its second oil change @ 600 miles

And boy.....Im glad I did. Im also glad I invested in a driftworks magnetic sump plug and a mag II oil filter, take a look

You can also just about see the same metal filing in the filter centre

Dunno how normal that amount of filings is for a engine running in, but there was a fair bit there, so lets hope all is ok. As it was up in the air Ive now ran the cable for the exhaust control valve and took some photos to show you how they routed my exhaust. Its not exactly minimum bends but it is straight through when needed and it pops out the side like I want, it even made it onto the 4 poster ramp with an inch to spare and that beats the size of any speed bump ive come accross Plus theres room for more lowering

Just a quick one to show a few silly bits that have been done. First I gave it a good clean with body scrub and then wax.

Mounted the battery box in place, still need some kind of top clamp arrangement

Took advantage of the no pop ups on sidelight guide today while it wasnt too windy.

These are the two red wires that need to be cut. One on the dim dip box and one on the headlight timer.

    And the result

the right bulb is brand new and the left old. I will get another to even it out but a pleasingly simple mod

    Old VS New

A wire brush and a splash of hammerite hides a multitude of sins

Sadly I dont have new dust covers so I got them back in

    Fronts done

Should get on and do the rears tomorrow, which is a shame, cos I quite like the nose down look. Was kind on worrying these springs would have been a bit crashy but actually there great, no problems at all.

I started by removing the hot start solenoid, as I will be needing the hole for the solenoid on the intake pipe as well as the actuator take off fitting. Did the FPR mod first, following Payworker guide in S13 FAQ
Then I ripped out all the hot start gubbins

Then came the boost pluming, mounted the boost solenoid, then had to mod my newly moded FPR take off for the fuel pressure sensor

Here you can see the t piece and the strange clear inline filter you get with it

I was gonna keep this a secret from you lot, but I think it best you all know the truth . Everything was going well, took her out for a bit of a drive, had the boost setup to 0.8 bar originally, then when I had checked the
AFR was all good 0.9 then 1.0 bar. I know what your all thinking, but all went well and I arrived back home with no problems to report. Later that evening I went out to pop up the road, started her up drove up the road and knock knock knock WTF I thought, maybe my sticky tappet has really gone bad I thought, being optimistic Deep down I knew it was the big ends so I turned it round and parked it up. Got a second opinion in the form of Paul_S13 which confirmed my worst fears Its the big ends and after 1500 f-ing miles Now I now big uns are a bit of an issue on CA's from what I read on here, so this is where thinking ahead pays off I had my complete bottom end assembly balanced and put together by a well regarded engine builders ( I shall save them the blushes for now ) who have customers such as Bugatti, Aston Martin and Rolls Royce to name a few. I would'nt have expected this from a company with such a reputation so I decdided to pay them a visit. Gladly, once I had explained to them what had happened there exact words were:
