Been so busy and all my workmates cars have been braking meaning ive had no time to work on mine . Finally could get on and do a bit this evening:
Bitch stud out! I got on with it and removed the abs to test fitted the manifold, abs looks like it will go back on after.
I managed to bolt up the turbo to it eventually and its more or less on, with about 6 of the nuts holding it on there now. Got kicked out at 6 by the security guards wanting an early night The turbo just fits on there, the stud that holds the metal cover on the engine mount just touches the turbo inlet compressor housing.
looking great mate
Thats a sexy looking manifold!
Had a slight redesign of the inlet piping
Cut the pipes back got the rad in, leaving the cowling off for now, see how hot she gets (was just under half before) Tubby elbow is on and I changed my offside rear caliper over as it was seized. Need to get some more 75mm silicone connector pipes, downpipe on, air box back in, relocate battery to boot and I still aint fixed that stud. pissed me off so much last time ive just been doin other bits and keeping my distance from it.
Well Ive finally got the exhaust manifold on now all nuts are tight and im happy (4th time off and on . Turns out it was the dowels I had made up that were stopping it line up propperly so once I binned a few of them a had a bit more play to get everything to fit up ok.....few . Then, got on with some more bits.
Changed oil and fitted new fuel filter.
looking good mate, with regards to getting the downpipe modified i shouldnt think youd have any problems, the hardest bit will be cutting the flange off. i think it will be stainless but unsure of the grade, but either way it 'can' be mig welded but go for tig, gives a much better weld any engineering place should be able to have a go at it for you for not too much money.
Got the abs plumbed in today. Gave it a bleed on my own with this handy vacum bleeder
Got all the wheels of and went round them and the abs twice till I got a pedal I was happy with.
10 points to anyone who can tell me what lovely bit english engineering is behind the 13!
Nice and easy to bleed. Handy when no c**t wants to help and you got a compressor to hand. Still waiting on those hose connectors on ebay......come on! hurry up! Do they not realise I need them asap!
