    Cheers for the comment guys

The looms have been opened up, ready to slim them down to the bare neccesities

I spent ages trying to find a master cylinder from a R33 GTR (bm57) as its slightly larger than a Z32's 1" bm50. I couldn't seem to source one anywhere and was running out of time so I ended up bidding on a normal Z32 one on the bay which I won, and it turned up the other day

    Bonus!

Cracked on with more prep on the firewall

and finished the paint ('scuse the phone cam)

Got a run in the laquer so not perfect, but good enough, I'm pretty sure the engine will cover it once its in

Time to start sticking it back together now

My inlet was looking, erm.... untouched

So I took it home to have a spruce. Stripped down

Every month or two my 20 year old hoses would let me down usually an inaccessable hose at the back to the engine, so thought it best to invest in some newies

Trying to work out what goes where

Raided my spare spray cans for some saph blue and tidied the fuel rail as it was going a bit rusty

few other bits got a lick of paint too

Then on to the main mani

Apply liberal use of angle grinder

I started to smooth it of and was gonna go for a polish, but the finish would never be even as I dont have all the attachements needed to get in every nook n cranny

So I took the easier and quicker option of paint it silver Looks a bit like this now

    And the other bit too

That isn't as bad as you might think though, and totally worth it while you have access. I went to Nissan when I had one of the hidden hoses go on my CA and was quoted £100 for 4 of them! With 18 in the kit could be worth it if you want to keep the car

Firstly, appologies for phone cam pics. My sister has reclaimed her SLR for new job so doubt it will be back anytime soon Anyway, on with the update:

I've started bolting things back on to the car!

Then I went to refit the cusco brake stopper

    Erm.......

We all love a bit of modification

    Well why not

    Jobs a good'un

Wiper motor was looking a bit dirty and tired, couldn't really stick it back in like that, so

    Back in

    And here we are

Engine bits just came back from the machinist today, so just had time to mount the block on an engine stand and give it wire brush ready for paint

Apart from wiring, there aint much else that can be done until the engine is built back up and fitted

As you've discovered, Z32 BMCs can come in BM-50 or BM-57 flavour (I think some even came with a BM-44).

I wouldn't have gone with an R33 one in any case as I believe they have a different front/rear split
