Just a quickie. Got an mot for it today as this will be my daily driver for now as well as the occasional event thrown in for good measure .
an on her first official day back on the road I come home to find another load of DW goodies just arrived

Thats a nismo gearbox mount to go with the engine ones I have but not fitted yet, some oil for my gearbox, solid steering bush, magnetic sump plug, and option vol 20 dvd which im gonna watch tonight. on the downside I seem to have a bit of oil smoke on the over rev which would lead me to believe the turbo is shagged, hmm, better get saving!

    Fitted the side repeaters

    This was purchased from ebay

Yes its an xs power job. I know it will crack , which is why I have decided to buy another and when it does crack swap and weld, swap and weld, and so on. Cheaper option than going for the more expensive ones I have seen (dependent on the number of time it cracks i suppose ). Turbo has been built and should be here on monday so next week I can crack on and fit it

The XS manifolds do crack but are alot better if you support them by welding a bracket to the manifold pipe and bolting it too the head, then support the manifold where it joins the downpipe by welding a bracket there and bolting it too the gearbox. Did that to mine and it never cracked for atleast 6000 miles when i sold the car

Well I cracked on and got on with the turbo fitting today. All went quite smoothly and I had the turbo off ok.

I think these two photos explain why it was smoking

Major play I think you will agree!!

    Old n new together

And from then on it all started to go downhill

    That aint gonna fit!

I went to fit the xs manifold and it looked as though it it wouldnt fit with the abs on even though this is a mk2. I may well be able to fit if i removed the abs to get it in then refit it. but then I came up with an idea of removing the studs to slot it in and then refit the studs once the mani was in place. So I cracked on and started to remove the studs......and ended up snapping a stud Its been left there and hopefully a stud extractor should be in my possesion tomorrow
