Project Not Long Now S13
Welcome to my project S13. Its been two years now since I got this car, a gold UK 1991 200SX on a H with what had been discribed as having a "head gasket" gone...lol, let the can of worms be opened!
Once back I set about the head doing the gasket with a nice expensive metal gasket only to fire it up blip the throttle and get the big end banging harder than a pornstar! This was the start of a slippery slope that is my s13. Oh well I thought, I've started now so I may as well finish, so off to the local Nissan dealers for some big ends. I did them with the engine in situ, just jacking it up off its mounts. Had a few problems getting No.3 to sit correctly but thought I had it sorted , bolted it all back together and fired it up......no knocks! Blip throttle.......no knocks, woo hoo So I had my 200 on the road. I went for my maiden drive. Gently I drove round not giving it much stick keeping under 3.5k and the gentle loads but slowly a noise began to rear its head....knock, knock, knock, who's there? Its the big ends again rearing there ugly curved heads! Ended up getting towed back with a total of only 30miles covered
And that has been the the total mileage I have covered in the car to date the engine was pulled out and I began a strip down.
While the engine was out my car was left sitting outside my house for a bit.
One morning I came outside to find half a brick embedded in my windscreen . Who have I upset this time I thought and at the same time thinking it cant get much worse than this. I really thought I had upset someone but after watching the watchdog program and seeing my then neighbour on it for running away with £3.3 million of other people's money they invested with him and him driving a silver sports car (gold can look silver at night) I see what has happened. Message for the Person who threw the brick: How dumb have you gotta be to mix up an silver audi titty with a gold 200, the badges on the front usually help.
I had my bottom end rebuilt:
The Block's spec is as follows:
Honed bores
Weisco Pistons
Pauter Con Rods
New Nissan Oil pump
New Nissan Crank (Treated after balancing)
Fully Lightened and Balanced Bottom End

Yeah there is a greddy MHG in there. Was gonna go for another box colour, but blue is what I had there. I know what you mean, not 100% keen on it myself but its better than it looked before, and most of it is tucked out of sight when its in!

On friday I got the engine wired in and fired up. Unfortunately the ebay FPR does leak from the fuel rail so I will have to make a gasket up or see if I can just get the adaptor from the driftworks shop. Unlike the one I got the dw one has the tube that slips up the rail with the rubber seal. Mine has none of that. Next on the list is to get it M.O.T.-able which will include a new screen and I can feel some welding coming!!
